How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

A Single fan for a warm night was not enough.
We stayed as a family of four in a single room for a night. Had booked this one as a stopover to our destination. It served the purpose well, good proximity to highway and breakfast was included.

It was a well-located hotel (about 12 minutes walking from main train station) with automated check-in. just insert a code and get key. welcome drinks were free and facilities were excellent. Breakfast was also perfect. Many choices were available.

The breakfast options are great, as well as the beverages (and they have "to go" cups too). The personnel is very helpful. The key boy machine procedure is easy.

The WiFi is useless unless you go and sit in the reception lounge. In this day and age we expected better.
Breakfast absolutely brilliant, as per all of the reviews. Well located. Couldn't find the stirage place for our bicycles, but the room was so huge that we were able to put them in there and still have heaps of space!

Our room was facing the street, and it was noisy the first night (people were hanging out in front of the hotel entrance where there is a smoking spot)

The toilet was not clean, the walls are very thin so you hear every movement of the people next door

the room was fine for one night or if passing through as the bed was not very comfortable, and the shower not very good. But friendly staff, clean facilities and perfect for one night.
Breakfast was great and check in was smooth. The room was perfect for a one night stay, the place was clean, easy to find, and hospitable as the hotel supplied snacks, tea & coffee, water and a complimentary beer/soft drink in the room

A self check-in hotel with staff only present in the morning. The room was very nice, it had a balcony too. The breakfast was great and the complimentary mini bar was a nice touch too.

Parking was slightly difficult as you had to find a space and if you couldn’t you had to pay the hotel to use there back space

The room decor seemed a bit outdated with woodchip wallpaper, but it didn't affect my experience. However, the room was neutral, bright, and pleasant. It's still a 3-star hotel, but overall, a very good one.
The room was very spacious, clean, and well-ventilated. The breakfast was exceptional, with lots of variety and good quality. The reception, catering, and cleaning staff were all welcoming, helpful, and genuinely nice. Overall, it was a very good experience. If I come back to Karlsruhe, I will definitely stay here again. A big thank you to the receptionist who worked on Saturday morning! He helped me check out at 7.30am, even though he was not starting until 8am. Additionally, he assisted me in ordering a taxi as the Uber app was not working there.

It is weird to stay at a hotel and not get to see anybody working there until the morning. Just something I need to get used to. Would be nice to get some details before arrival about amenities available in the hotel as well surrounding area.
Many little things were available free of charge or a an additional cost to make the stay more enjoyable. Breakfast was great! It was hot and a fan had already been provided in the room to help with that. Arrival worked great with the key boy.
