Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyFor newcomers, a few things to keep in mind: Check-in starts only from 4 pm, which was a surprise for me (after travelling to nearly 40 countries, I hadn’t experienced this before). Guests with a German address need to pay an €11 membership fee, while non-German addresses pay €3.50 per night. There is no private parking, only street parking nearby but it's good 6 euro per day. Soap is not provided in the bathroom, so it’s good to bring your own.
The location is very good, breakfast was tasty (and included in the price), and the overall atmosphere was calm and relaxing.

PolandShower head wasn't working well No body gel inside the shower - had to open the shower every now and again to squeeze out the gel provided above the wash basin Floor towel and big towel was provided, but hand towel missing Don't expect a peaceful breakfast experience - chaos in the little buffet (real size cleverly avoided in photos) but I guess it's normal with so many teens Asked for gluten free bread and it didn't come If you can get a cheaper place, have breakfast at a baker's (Bäckerei) of which there are plenty everywhere
Close to the old town - you can pretty much walk everywhere No disturbances during the night

GermanyThe breakfast was rich, but there were many people. There are a lot of guests, so the corridors are a bit narrow.
I was very happy to have a single room at this price. The front desk was very helpful.

United StatesThe room was very small. I didn't like the bed at all. There were two single beds in the room. I was looking for a big twin bed. The beding was very basic. There was no real mattress but a foam one. The room furniture was very basic with a table two chairs and a wardrobe. The whole facilty is full of teenagers. They can be boisterous and loud, running up and down the hallway and stairs. If you are very sensitive about noise, this environment could be challenging for you. There was also some type of construction work going on right outside of my windows. So there was extra loud noise that I tried to keep out by shutting my windows.
What I like the most is the breakfast. It was rich with a lot of varieties. The food was pretty fresh. The bread was toasted and crunchy. I suspect that they make their bread. The location is very central. It's just two stops away from the main train station.

HungaryAs in the last year: the building is under a reconstruction. So there are a really inconvenient and really hard noise on the workdays. There are a lot of sand in the staircase and in the lifts, on the corridors. It is really annoying and a big bad thing for your convenience and relax (it is impossible). In 2025 the drinks for the breakfast (like beverages and cacao) are very bad, tasteless, over-diluted.
The location of the accomodation is very good for me. Everything is close to the building what I like or use during my travel: S-Bahn trainstation, city center and shops. I was here many times and I really like this Jugendgästehaus. The breakfast is very good, and assorted.

ChinaI need to pay extra because I'm not a member of international youth hostel. 10+ mins walk to the old city 20 min to the main station. They use very old keys and I need to lock the door from inside and leave the key at the reception each time I leave the hostel.
Very good breakfast. Big room. 24h reception.

United StatesThere wasn’t really anything I didn’t like. It was good value for the money and the breakfast was more than expected. It is the only stay on our trip so far that had bananas.
The day staff was so helpful in finding our way around. We only had a reservation for one night but he accommodated us even though it was our error in arrival dates.

GermanyI stayed in many different youth hostels (Jugendherberge) in Germany. This one is definitely among the good ones. You can easily reach the city center by bike and many tourist attractions. It is also clean and budget-friendly, which I definitely recommend if you travel to Dresden.

United StatesThe pillows were not too great and radiator did not function well. I didn’t complain but I guess it was fine after a few hours. And this location is out of the way from all tourist areas so just keep that in mind. Will require a lot of walking to reach central train station and city center.
The room was big and clean. Bathroom was also good. Facility is actually pretty nice with a nice breakfast in morning.
