A real issue for anyone not travelling alone is the transparent bathroom door - it’s a sliding door with a glass window and a huge gap either side. If you’re ok with your travelling partner seeing you shower, that’s fine, but hearing each other on the toilet as if you’re in the same room is quite horrible. A different bathroom door and the place would be perfection!

Location, check-in, vibe and general facilities and comfort were absolutely top notch, we loved our stay!

A washing machine would have been good.

Location was good, place was clean and comfortable. Didn't meet any owners or staff but communicated fine electronically. As we were there to walk we weren't in the flat during the day.

The host was not helpful or forthcoming AT ALL. It was very hot (above 32-34 degrees) and I had requested a fan almost 10 days before my stay. I didn't get any response for a whole week despite a reminder. Then immediately after my card had been fully charged and the amount became non-refundable I was told they don't provide fans. And the excuse used was that it's a fire hazard!! Every other hotel on our trip made arrangements for fans, including the one my friends stayed at on the same street on the same dates! Host was also very un-accomodating and abrupt about check in/ check out times.

The apartment was as described, very clean, comfortable bed, nice bathroom!

We asked for an early check in but this had not been communicated and we had to phone owners who gave us a code . No information on wifi code we had to ring to ask for it . Would have been nicer to meet the owner or agent as I had spoken to her from the UK before we left home.

lovely historic location in a cobbled alley in the middle of Gengenbach. Nice comfortable flat. modern well laid out bathroom . a little dark but that was due to the type of buliding, . Overall a great place to stay ..close to restaurants and shops and yet quiet and atmospheric giving you a sense of history .

Parking... Parking in the area is a huge pain. This is very much a problem as you can not park close to the unit. I would suggest parking near the Kinzig river, and just walking the short distance to the unit. This offers all day parking, while many of the other paid parking is increments of two hours. With an abnormally hot June this year, it was rather warm in the unit. It would have been amazing if the unit had a supplied fan.

The Location was awesome! It is as close to downtown Gengenbach as you can possibly get. This makes walks in the city a breeze, especially in the early morning. The apartment was very clean and had nearly everything you'd need.

The location was great. It is both central to the city and is in a particularly quaint alley. Communications with the host were simple and clear. Entry was as described and simple.

We wanted to be able to cook and eat a meal together but this was hard as the largest room with the big table and 4 chairs couldn't be used as you couldn't put anything hot on it and there were no mats or heat proof cloth. There was no kettle but the hosts provided one when we asked. All the apartments (we rented 3) were perfect for couples, but less good for a family.

This was a beautiful place in an amazing little town. It was full of character and really nicely presented. It was great staying somewhere so old and in such a lovely location. Gengenbach itself was a brilliant place, loads of restaurants and cafes in beautiful countryside.

There were spider beetles everywhere from the timbers, but we as travelers did not know that happens in these types of buildings. We stayed up most of the night and barely got any sleep because we were worried they were bed bugs. This information should be shared proactively from the host. The host could also benefit from sharing more info on the parking from the start.

This accomodation was amazing and even BETTER than coming home!!! The contact with the Gastgeber Susanne & Jean-Marie Trapp was very nice. They are very open and answer every question/doubt you have. The appartment was just beautiful and very clean. It has got every detail and there is an amazing atmosphere. We had a very romantic time in this appartement and the beautiful town Gengenbach.
