Lovely place from where to explore the Black Forrest. Beautiful decorated rooms with natural materials. Great that they have a sauna. And our boys loved the table tennis table 🏓

Just a little bit too hot with not many facilities to cool the room down. Not many weeks that are 33 degrees so this was just down to our luck.

Kitchenette only consisted of stove and kettle- some kind of small grill/oven would be useful for a longer stay. Very hot when we stayed here (mid summer) and no A/C.

Staff all very welcoming and helpful. Beautiful location- very quiet. Family of 5 accommodated in one room /apartment. Lots of places of interest within short driving distances.

Perfect hotel for a ski holiday. The hotel seems to be newly renovated. All facilities are good, stuff are nice, food was aslo good considering the location.

The instruction was not enough and we had to find out ourselves （e.g the place of sauna/ breakfast place, how to enter the hotel during the night, oppotunity to buy drink at the reception）

It wasn’t explained anywhere that we could see (it may have been and we missed it because it would’ve been written in German) that no food other than breakfast is available. Not normally a problem, only an issue for us as we were using public transport so a trip to the town to get shopping to cook meals for our stay was a 1hr+ round trip so just something to bare in mind for any other people looking to stay here.

The staff were incredibly friendly and the hotel was beautiful and so, so clean! The views and surroundings were stunning, I’ve never stayed somewhere so picturesque.

It would have been nice to have been in a room on an upper floor. I felt that we were a little overlooked.

The sofa bed wasn't very comfortable and we didn't have enough pillows and toilet paper for a family of 4, which we asked for.

The views were amazing, and we had a big balcony. The breakfast had a variety of items on the menus and the food and drinks were organic and fresh. The flat was comfortable and the staff was welcoming, patient and helpful.

Aware it was off season but the restaurant was only open Thursday-Sunday which wasn’t told to us when we booked which meant we had to drive out 20-30 minutes minimum to find food. The cleaner also only came once during our whole week stay, really poor service and they didn’t even clean or change our dirty coffee cups we had been having to wash in the bathroom sink for 5 days. Room had a kettle but no tea or coffee so had to go and buy our own

It is isolated so very peaceful but takes a while to fins( after a beautiful drive mind you). Kitchen closed at 6/30 on Sunday but we were hungry so wanted to eat early. Didn’t seem to be open at all best night but we had eaten downtown. Quite remote from shops etc but lovely countryside

A beautifully located guesthouse in the clouds. Spacious and very clean room. Lovely young lady checked us and also served us dinner. Parking out front. Comfortable beds; wide balcony with views (probably if not fogged up!)

The WiFi was not secure if availble. Most of the times we didn’t have have WiFi due to issues. The location was not able to receive 5g, 4g or even edge most of the times.

The view from the balcony was marvellous all though direction north result in almost no sunlight. The room was very spacious and all facilities where available.

The view from the rooms were blocked 🚫 by tress. Cleaning the foliage would make for a better view. Also, the breakfast experience can improve.

The stafe was very pleasant and cordial. The location was great and had a nice view of the valley.

Car is definitely needed as the hotel is high up the hill, so to get anywhere there is a 20min drive down windy roads. Not a problem for us as we knew this when we booked but worth knowing. We would definitely stay again.

Beautiful location. The room was really great. The spacious room and the small kitchen suited us perfectly. We had dinner in the restaurant one evening which was lovely. There is outside space for the children to run around and swings to play on. Everything was exceptionally clean and modern. Beautiful views

We enjoyed seeing the rural part of Germany appose to the cities. We arrived by taxi and did not have our own car, so if you have to make use of public transportation (bus) make sure you are fit as the bus stops is about 1km away. Our family room with the kitchenette was great as we like to make our own breakfast. The town of Todnau nearby was a great visit with our teenagers.

Hypoallergenic bedding is available but the default pillows contain feathers and down, so if you're allergic, tell the hotel in advance. As the beds were already covered in feathers, I ended up sleeping on the sofa bed on the floor below.

Beautiful location in the middle of the Black Forest with walking routes around the Schauinsland. Freiburg im Breisgau is only a half hour drive away. The continental breakfast had excellent pretzels and the restaurant is excellent, though closed on Mon - Weds, so make sure to bring food for those days or be ready to drive elsewhere. The staff were really helpful in offering tips on places to go. The sauna is lovely and quiet - you can sign up for a slot each day.
