Little privacy in shared rooms

The hostel is in an old building with a homy vibe, located on a central street where all attractions are on a walkable distance. One just has the feeling that everything in the hostel is done with great care. The place is cleaned every day, in the kitchen one can find everything needed for a meal to prep, in the dining room there is a children's corner and a small bookshelf for book exchange.

The bedroom door had a problem.it was hard to open with the key. It was a real problem cause my son couldn't open the door.

- Some outlets in the room did not work. The assigned bed was occupied.

I stayed here for the second time and it is a great value deal. The location is decent, it's comfortable, and you have clean bathroom and kitchen facilities. Good for single travelers passing through, but I also wouldn't mind staying here with my kids by booking a whole room.

We could not find parking easily

The place has a cozy shared living room and free coffee and tea! Close by you also have a tasty bakery making it perfect to wake up to a nice breakfast

There was no lock on the bedroom door and one time the door to the whole house was left open.

I like the location which is a few minutes walk to the tram stop. The place was also quiet and the room was spacious. The staff was also nice and was able to handle the problem I encountered with the mix up in the bed arrangement.

There were old pans in the kitchen. The water from the tap was splashing in different directions (kitchen).

Perfect cleanliness in the room upon check-in. Polite staff. The size of the room was large, for staying with two children it was perfect.

I stayed for a night in a mixed dormitory and no bunk beds which I like it. I arrived very early (7am) and they provided me easy entry a day before to keep my luggage. The lady at the front desk is very friendly and speaks English. They have kitchen facilities with free coffee or tea. The place is near to Karlsruhe HBF and also to trams.

My neighbor not only occupied my bed, but woke the whole room with a 6 am alarm two days in a row and decided it is a cool idea to answer a phone call at 6:55 in the morning

Building / Room a little bit old, no front desk reception but you can call them, they help immediately

I guess the building might a little bit old, which make it really not sound proof. You might clearly head people next door go to toilet or talking. But, they provided a pair of ear plugs for you.

I guess there were some long term tenants who were very noisy late at night and also not clean at all. That's not the hostel's fault but because no staff was present at any time this can happen.

It's nicely located in a good residential area close to Karlsruhe main station. There's a nice balcony attached to the room.

- Actually a non front desk hostel, but the owner lives in the same building. So in case of problems you can always tend to the owner w/o any problems. - The beds are regular Ikea beds and not these usual bunk beds - Location is just nearby the main station. Look for the Tramstop/Subwaystop "Kolpingstrasse"

The shared bathroom can be a bit inconvenient and as mentioned, if you are a light sleeper and/or go to bed early, noise from the hallway and adjoining bathroom was quite a lot.

The bed was very comfortable and though the ear plugs that awaited us in the room were a bit worrying, we didn't end up being too bothered by the admittedly poor soundproofing as we arrived late each night. We had ample space in the room and liked the kitchen access, though we didn't have time to cook, we could use the kettle and toaster in the morning and evenings. I also liked the easy self check in.

There was a smoking stench in the room
