Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandI stayed in one of the train carriages in July, and it was quite hot. There wasn't a lot of space and it was difficult to reach the top bunk of my bed, as there was no built in ladder. Apart from this it was clean and comfortable though, and it wasn't much of an issue as there was plenty space to relax and hang out in the common area.
We were in walking distance of Kunstrasen for a concert which was great. The bathrooms and shower rooms were nice and clean and the water was hot. It was nice that the hostel offered cold drinks and beers, and there were nice indoor and outdoor areas to sit. The hostel design is also unique and quirky, really cool.

United KingdomA mini kitchen would be a brilliant addition as there aren’t many cheap eating options around. There is a kettle and a fridge.
Quirky unusual and brilliant rooms. Very clean. We stayed in a converted cable car - great experience! Fab for kids.

Bosnia and HerzegovinaCar park is too small without marked places so people park irregularly. Sleeper car rooms are too small for the price and noisy too.
It's all cool and cute but...

CambodiaThe electric socket is too high. I feel like doing treasury hunt to find where I can plug my charger. I need to step on the bed every time I use it.
The cabin room and coffee at the restaurant, but I pay 2.50euro for the coffee

United StatesIt was so much fun to stay in a camper van for the night! The bathrooms were clean and the hotel staff were very helpful. We loved that there was a little Christmas market taking place on site.

NetherlandsYou don’t have the train noise in the background which in the past would help with making the rooms “soundproof”. This wasn’t an issue for me and won’t be as long as neighbours are respectful.
Fun experience sleeping in a bunk bed in an old train. The place looks like a vintage museum, where you can find all kind of pretty and well maintained caravans and other types of vehicles.

United StatesIt’s necessary to cross train tracks in order to get to BaseCamp. Most of the time, this is no problem. However, one time, there were a lot of trains, and I had to wait 30 minutes before I was allowed to cross.
This is a great budget-friendly option in Bonn. The accommodations are so quirky and cute. I stayed in the “Big Ben” camper van and I loved the British-themed details. I felt like I was camping indoors! The shared bathrooms are very clean. I really liked the vegetarian breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back - I have already booked another stay!

United KingdomAn excellent concept and brilliant stay. I would go back in a heartbeat. Truly original. I stayed in the Trabant and the railway sleeping carriage and both were comfortable and clean and, in the Trabant’s case, quirky. The communal facilities are very good and plentiful. This stay was superb value. Super friendly and helpful staff. Although the location is out of the centre of Bonn it is well served by public transport, although you can occasionally get caught waiting for a while at the railway level crossing. Highly recommended for stays in Bonn.

GermanyThe socket for plugs was set very high in the sleeping carriage. I needed to stand on the bed to reach it and it was actually difficult to charge my stuff. In the end I sat up in the breakfast area charging my things. The hot water was a bit strange. It came in spurts. I could shower OK but it wasn't 100% consistent. The bike hall was open at night. There were staff on reception but a door at the back was nevertheless open. I locked my bike with 3 locks and there were no issues, but 100% secure would be an overstatement.
What a nice and unique place. It`s an experience to overnight there. I was on a bike tour and could park my bike in the hall. I had a train carriage room. I was worried it might be both hot and noisy. It was neither. I slept very well. The rom is small, especially with 4 bike bags, but I managed fine. The shared toilets and showers were spotlessly clean. The breakfast was outstanding. The breakfast area, overlooking the hall, was very comfortable.
