Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ThailandIf in summer you prefer open windows then it may not be that quiet and ability to have a curtain to darken the room would have been appreciated in long summer nights.
As always, we like the location and the relatively quiet environment along with a good breakfast and very friendly staffs. Also the late check-in worked flawless, thank you.

United KingdomThe rooms got quite warm even when widows were wide open. A/c would of been ideal. From a personal point, the pillows were hopeless. Just not firm enough. Might suit some though. Trivial complaints really.
Lovely hotel. Great pool and sauna facilities. Safe car park for motorbikes. Close enough to the Nurburgring for a taxi if you’re in a group. Definitely a hotel worth staying in.

NetherlandsThere are 2 sauna cabins, both equipped with water bucket or water dosing on the stove. It would be better to make a clear distinction between 1 dry and 1 'wet' cabin, to serve all customers better on their preference.
All good, excellent breakfast and restaurant, plenty of car parking (free), beautiful swimming pool for morning swim and sauna for afternoon relaxation. Beautiful location in old cloister building, nicely renovated.

FranceThe reception is only open until 7 PM, whereas a four-star hotel is expected to offer 24/7 front desk service. The staff at reception were not fluent in English, and all written communication was in German only—typically, an English version should also be available. If you're staying for several nights, your room will only be cleaned on the third day, supposedly for environmental reasons. However, this feels more like a cost-cutting measure than a genuine sustainability effort. You must request room cleaning at the front desk if you want the bed made and the bathroom cleaned. The swimming pool was small (less than 10 meters), and there was no hammam in the spa. Additionally, guests are charged extra for towels, slippers, and bathrobes—items that are usually provided free of charge at comparable hotels.
Breakfast buffet was really nice. Diner was a bit expensive but the food was of quality. Central patio for breakfast and diner is nice. Rooms were large, quiet, clean, with good wifi connection. The Spa was nice.

DenmarkIt is a bit old and you can hear everything from the room: people in the corridor or your neighbors. I would not recommend the restaurant. The food was not the best and it took hours for them to serve a salad and a schnitzel (not the best quality either)
The staff was very nice. The hotel had available parking for free and the breakfast was also good. The room had an Ok size and bed was comfortable.

United KingdomPoor sign posting means you will drive up n down to get into the car park. It’s a walk to reception. Room had no tea n coffee facilities, no bottled water, no extra blankets or pillows, no bathrobe for the spa. Had a mini fridge that was empty so what’s the point? Beds weren’t very comfortable but ok.
Pool and spa sauna was nice after a long drive. Plenty of parking. Food was good if a little pricy.

NetherlandsThe window curtains are too small, not covering the whole window. Also it was hot, no circulation or fresh air. Only option was to open the windows, but it will get noisy and mosquitoes will get in. There wasn't enough outlets near the beds/not working.
The breakfast was superb! The hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

Slovakia- expensive (and not really good) dinner - basic breakfast - no air-conditioning in the common area where is the dinner served - a free cot available just at 9pm (late for us, as the baby should be already asleep at this time) - a lot of light in the room (curtains are not covering whole length of the window wall)
- quiet hotel and surrounding area - nice building - a lot of parking spaces behind the hotel - a large room with a lot of storage spaces in the room

We had booked the Budget Tweepersoonskamer. The hotel room is spacious. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast is very good for example, with a honeycomb. Free parking at the hotel. The Augustiner Hotel is located in the middle of Hillesheim. A beautiful hiking area. Tip: go to the Italian restaurant nearby Taverna Romana

NetherlandsThe access card is needed for electricity in the room and to go in or out of the hotel or to visit the facilities and they gave us only one for a family of 3. We requested another one the next day but some doors were working while others were not. There was a lot of confusion there, but overall everything was good about the hotel.
