How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

There was no kettle in the room, we had to ask for one, no refreshments other than one bottle of water on arrival, so bring your own tea / coffee. Only one pillow each, again we had to ask for more. Sauna was falling apart! Construction going on while we were there.
The staff were great - helpful and friendly, and it's a very convenient location if you're visiting Kelkheim for medical treatment. Supermarket and restaurants just over the road.

single rooms on 4th floor with nice view but lift only to 3rd floor. no lounge to sit and read or wait for other guests to join for socialising.

My room was facing the street and the level of noise was unbelievable. Traffic, people yelling in the streets until 4 AM, I barely got any sleep all 3 nights. It was hot, no A/C which made it very uncomfortable and leaving the window open due to the noise was not an option.
It was clean and had a very friendly and helpful staff.

The rooms can't be locked from inside without keys. The building requires pass code system. The elevator barely fits 2 people
The staff mainly were very friendly and kind. The room at first was very small but they managed to get us a bigger room that was good. The location was good although noisy in the morning and parking was not available easily.

During the three days of our stay, I did not see any of the staff. No one is getting in touch. Of the two paid breakfasts, only one was provided. The money has not been refunded. The room’s entrance door is broken. Entering and leaving the room is a real challenge.

The room for 3 people was very small on the top floor with a low roof. Not as the picture in the description. They should put pictures of those rooms too for 3 people. It is misleading therefore we were disappointed. It was uncomfortable with hardly any space. Also, on arrival they charged 30€ extra for the dog for the stay. Which we understand but, the rude way it was communicated by the lady at the reception put us off.
Very friendly and helpful lady in the breakfast room. They had a gluten free option ready as requested. The hotel is very clean.

This hotel was a perfect home base for visiting my family. The accommodations where larger than expected overlooking the town square. The breakfast was wonderful. The staff was exceptionally friendly.

Next building over did not observe quiet hours and were up till 3am. Needed to have the window open for fresh air and ventilation, but had to close it because of the noise.

The matress was ultra-soft like marshmallows. There was a shower but no bathing towel, only a hand towel. The room telephone could not call abroad. A 3-meter area around the hotel entrance was never swept, although rubbish from elsewhere was blown in by the wind (empty paper bags/fag ends). And an enquiry by e-mail, sent a week before arrival, receied no reply.
Didn't have breakfast. Location was most suitable as the clinic I was operated on was just across the street. An extra bonus for a mobility restricted person was that there were many different restaurants, pubs, bakeries, grocery, pharmacies etc. being close by. One member of staff (of 3), was thankfully much friendlier and accommodating than the others. She even lent me her private mobile phone for a short call home when I couldn't get online in the local library.

Very outdated low budget hotel. Very uncomfortable mattresses (probably as old as the building), window didn’t have any shades to darken the room; power outlet didn’t work; no shower cabinet or shower curtain, so everything gets wet.
The staff was very helpful.

We asked for a quiet room. The reception couldn’t do anything because the computer system was very sensitive and any change would be difficult!? The room was like a birds nest under the roof. The bed had severe stains :-/ Also the price went incredibly low just after we made the booking. Almost up To 30% less.
The location was quite good.
