Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SingaporeNot so good wifi.
There is a large carpark which guests can park for free. The property has an elevator but from the carpark there’s a flight of stairs.we arrived early but the room was ready. I had originally planned a solo trip but when my friends joined me I changed to a triple. That room was spacious and I believe was designed for older folks and the handicapped. The bathroom had no barrier and even had a fold down seat. The room was clean and even the sofa bed was comfortable. However there was no kettle, coffee nor tea and no fridge. The restaurant served good food although there was just a limited choice. The service was slow though with just a couple of staff. I waited so long for dessert that I decided to cancel the order as I was sleepy. Wifi was patchy. The property was just facing the start of the trail to Bastei Bridge. Overall we enjoyed the stay.

United StatesThis hotel is in a beautiful location. We hiked right in as we were hiking Der Malerweg. Our room was very nice, very clean, and just as described, with a balcony. Many Americans don't like European beds, but we thought the bed here was very comfortable. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was also great.

VietnamThe wifi situation is entirely unacceptable. Uses a 3rd party login process and is so regulated that you can't even check your email if you're using an email client (eg. Thunderbird, Outlook, iPad/iPhone mail client, etc). High price.
Comfortable room with plenty of windows and views (of the town, not the mountains). Fan included with the room, helping a lot for keeping the room cool. Excellent access for hiking. Good breakfast and decent food in the hotel restaurant overall.

GermanyNo blackout curtains, and the room is really bright in the morning. No kettle or cups for making tea in the room. A minifridge would have been nice. The bed was on the hard side, and the blankets too heavy and hot, but that's a matter of personal perception. We stayed 2 nights, and the housekeeping didn't come (but then again, maybe, the 4 or so hours we were out on that day were not enough, so we didn't mind).
The location is absolutely marvelous, 10 m away from the start of the trail to Bastei bridge and 200 m from the best place for eating fish in town (Forellenräucherei). Our room was very spacious, and clean, with a small balcony with a nice view. We liked the shower (though we would have preferred the shampoo in a squeezable container on the wall rather than in tiny individual packagings). We also liked the great sauna area (open 2-7 pm) with 3 different sauna rooms and an icecold minipool (for 1 or 2 persons). There were also lounges there and free tea facilities. Bathrobes and large towels for the sauna were in the room. Also, the breakfast (starts at 7.30 am) was very good, with 2 types of scrambled eggs (with tomatoes or with ham), boiled eggs, sausages, lots of cold cuts, cheeses (+white and blue mold), breads, jams, fresh yoghurts, vegetables and fruits, and musli-making stuff. The receptionist was very welcoming.

CanadaWe visited in the off-season and the whole town was very quiet. This hotel has the perfect location for doing the hike to the Bastei Bridge and back, which is an easy marked trail and worth it to get in nature. Our room had a balcony with a view behind the property which was lovely trees. We also ate at the restaurant and the meal was great. Breakfast and the service there were fantastic! The room included the ferry fee, but we didn't have the ticket on our first trip across, but the ferry guy was more knowledgeable than us (and didn't charge us!) Hotel had a lot of charm.

CyprusThey started knocking on my door before check out time. Some staff members were not welcoming. Reception desk usually empty. My room was cold - the heating and towel rail were not working. No fridge, no safebox, no kettle, no slippers. Very uncomfortable pillow. Paid for a double room with a double bed, but they gave me one pillow and a small blanket. Overall not worth the high cost - very outdated rooms with limited facilities, average service. The spa area was also cold, and the steam room was not working.
Impressive breakfast. Very convenient location, close to starting point of all hikes, including Bastei Bridge. The spa space is large with a nice sauna and drinks station. Cute welcome chocolates.

GermanyI felt I had to accommodate their needs too often. Using the sauna only from 2 pm to 7 pm, and only after registration doesn’t make sense to me as I would need to reduce my time hiking in the national park for being able to go to the sauna. As we didn’t know about these limitations upon arrival, we couldn’t use it on our first evening at all. Also, I had to fight to get the meal from the menu 40 min before the closing of kitchen because the cook had ‘put parts of it already away’. It was an upsetting experience.
I loved the location, the view was amazing, the nights quiet. The breakfast was divine. Great buffet with a large variety of carefully prepared food. Most of the staff was incredibly friendly.
