It’s clean; good choice for breakfast.

There is no air conditioner, also no fan in the room. If you open the window lot’s of mosquitoes will get in because there is no any mosquito net. There is only one curtain which can’t cover the window completely. Our room keys were hanging on the outside of the hotel door with my name written on the paper, mixed with other people, so everybody can see the guest names. Not sure that it comply with GDPR. When we enter into the room there were huge spider inside the shower cabin and we had few mosquitoes inside the room. There is no any shower gel which is unacceptable. TV programs are available only on German language. Rooms are full of wood with cheap extension cables in it and there is no any smoke detectors which is a possible hazard for all building. We came by car in the evening and there is no clear parking space close to the hotel, 2+2 parking space close to the building where occupied. Breakfast was in another building, good choice, but scrambled eggs shouldn’t be served cold. It’s automatic check-in/out, with instructions on German language.

The room was comfortable and clean, with facilities to make coffee or tea. Breakfast is served at Hotel Schuberts am Schloss, which is 5-10 minutes walk away , just far enough to work up a hunger! The breakfast spread is excellent, with a wide variety of food choices and friendly, attentive staff. Buttenheim is a lovely quiet village, handy for travel links. The station is only 20 minutes walk away, with direct trains every hour to Bamberg and Nuremburg and beyond, running late into the evening. The motorway is about 1km away. The surrounding countryside is a pleasant mixture of arable and woodland with lots of possible walks or cycle rides. With a little research trips out to beer gardens and beer kellers are possible in summer and the two Buttenheim breweries both have their own pleasant Bierkellers just a 10-minute walk away.

Thing I like the most from this stay is breakfast. Very rich and delicious. Easy self service check-in and check-out. Our room is clean and comfortable.

I do not like how all the room keys were hanged in front of the property. Such a too convinient way for the hotel owner, but do not give proper security to his/her guests!! It would be much better if you tell us to pick a key at the hotel that you serve breakfast. It is only a few minuites walk. Or else install digital password door for each room if you are such this lazy and want to make a place as 100% self service check-in and check-out.

Breakfast was in a different location. The room was rather dark, and the window of our room directly faced another wall.
