Checkin and Checkout must be done on a machine as there is no staff in reception after 15.00. Machine did not fully work so we got no room keycard and had to ask extremely busy restaurant staff to help us out. Machine took the payment and then nothing... The breakfast is just decent, small portions on a buffet for many people and everything continuously gone. Not a great quality or choice. Most places in Germany are a lot better. There is nothing else in the area and it feels like the hotel is taking advantage of that. For the price the hotel could be more welcoming, cleaner and especially the bathroom needed an update. Water in toilet just kept running.

Room is nice although a bit outdated. Location is fantastic in the forest. The restaurant has good food and helpful staff. Good starting point for hiking trips.

The room i was in needed a little TLC. The bed was clean and the room was tidy.

The hotel location was very nice, in the woods and not far from the river. The breakfast and evening meals were very good. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Check in was a bit problematic. We had prepaid and this seems to have been the problem. After many tries it worked, but was frustrating.

Breakfast was good - nothing special but good enough. Hotel is in a very quiet area which was nice. Room was clean and comfy.

There were no English Breakfast tea bags available at breakfast. We were provided with a glass of very hot water to dip the Darjeeiing tea bags into. This is very often the way tea is served in cafés, restaurant and hotels in Germany so hardly something worthy of note.

The location of the hotel in a forest in Germany near the Luxembourg border is very quiet and peaceful. There is free parking. The hotel is housed in an old mill building. It was warm inside with the central heating working well. There is a lift and was simple to get to the second floor. The beds were very comfortable and it is certainly the place to get a quiet and peaceful night's sleep. The restaurant was convivial and the service provided amiable creating a warm atmosphere. The local wine was an excellent choice. In the morning there were fresh fried eggs with a sprinkling of herbs.

My son would have appreciated a better matttress, he slept on the coach, however he slept well!

Both evening meal and breakfast were very good. Kind staff.Nice location, quite and peaceful. Happy with the elevatorfor my 98 year-old mother! Also good she could stay apart together in the apartment, so that we could keep an eye on her and she didn't feel lonely!

Hotel configuration and reception was a bit chaotic and car parking seemed unplanned even though it was convenient.

Good location for our journey back to UK. Good that we could arrive reasonably late and that we were still able to get a good evening meal.

We stayed here in 2019. Then it was a nice stop for one night. Ok room. Lovely food. Now it was same ok room. Awful rude waitress at the restaurant. No nice food. What happened during those years? 🤷‍♂️

    It’s quiet and dog friendly

The self service check in room was evidently also used as a smoking room as it smelt strongly of cigarettes, but no other area in the hotel did. This style of check in could also be very difficult for an older customer.

What made the stay for us was the staff. One lovely gentleman welcomed us so warmly, helping us to stow our bikes, providing us with local recommendations, and personally saying bye to each guest in the restaurant before leaving for the end of his shift! The hotel is nestled in the forest down a winding lane which made for a lovely ‘escape’. The room was clean and comfortable with a lovely shower. The restaurant had a buffet salad bar and nice, pub-style food.

A lady in the Biergarten is a bit rude but I assume it's a local thing. The place isn't that touristy.

It is a very cozy place in the hilly area not far from Trier. The wooden decoration is beautiful. They serve a very good Kellerbier and different kinds of Schnitzel. We also liked their fried mushrooms. The guy at reception and the restaurant is very friendly and helpful. Cheers.

Unfortunately the bathroom doors weren't really good, as they were getting stuck or the sides weren't good covered. Also we were a bit disappointed, because of a lack of hairdryer.

The room was clean, cozy and nice. Two separate beds were perfect for us.

There were animals living in the double ceiling, and with the silence of the night, we could hear them digging in the wood right above my head. There were several around the bed. I couldn't sleep :-(.

Location is good, for people that would like to go for hiking, you can hear the water, it should be amazing in sunny days.

WARNING!! DO NOT BOOK HERE!! This Hotel is a real dump🤢 The overall impression is that it’s a really dirty and worn down place. Our room was disgusting. Dirt everywhere, mold in the bathroom, old toothpaste on the mirror (I could go on forever). The room was listed as non-smoking, but the level of stench of smoke was extremely intense The reception was not only dirty and stinking, it was in total chaos with paper, and other things stapled everywhere. If we wouldn’t have prepaid and also arrived very late after a full day in the car we would have turned around directly. Now we didn’t really have any other option than to endure a few hours of sleep and hope for that there were no bed bugs in the room. 😱 (We saw moth though) We had breakfast early, some of the plates were not clean so we had to look for clean plates. Even though we were early the scrambled eggs looked at least a day old so we didn’t dare to eat anything else than some bread with cheese and cucumber. If the price would have been at the same level as the hotel standard I wouldn’t have expected better, but 135€ is not a price that reflects the standard at all. The recent good ratings that exist on booking, google etc. is NOT to be trusted. It fooled us, don’t repeat our mistake. If there was a minus scale on the rating I would use it but since there isn’t, I will give a solid 1 for this stay considering the price charged for the delivered standard.

Nothing WARNING!! DO NOT BOOK HERE!!
