Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe hostess was very grumpy and the facilities are shared with her. She is talking only Czech language so communication was very difficult. She was shouting on us because we was late 10min for the check-in time. Then she was shouting if we keep the light on in the corridors. When we was leaving she was chasing us to leave prompt in 9:30... This is the most unwelcoming host we ever had.
House is on the river bank with a big garden. The accommodation is spacious with a kitchen corner in the room. It's a walking distance from the town centre.

HungaryWe had little language problems. But we figure it out.
Friendly, peaceful surranding.. We loved the city. Not far from the centre. At the backyard is the river.

RomaniaWe encountered several serious issues during our stay at Ubytování U Jarky, the likes of which we have not experienced in over a decade of family travel: 1. Apart from a brief text message in Czech from the property owner, mentioning only the street we should go to and a four-digit code (which we assumed was for the lockbox with the keys), we received no further information about the exact location of the property or instructions for the check-in process. Upon entering the property, we found a note on the table stating that we should pay the city tax of 50 CZK per person (which we did) and fill out some documents legibly (see attached photo). However, no documents were provided for us to complete, leaving us confused and unsure of how to proceed. 2. Despite our efforts to reach out to the property owner, we received no response whatsoever. We called four times during the specified check-in window (15:00–18:00), sent a message through Booking, and even followed up with an SMS. None of these attempts received a reply, which is completely unacceptable and highly unprofessional. 3. The owner finally arrived at 19:30—an hour and a half after the stated check-in deadline, without notice or apology. She immediately began honking and shouting at us for having parked in what she claimed was her preferred spot, despite never having provided any parking instructions. She then aggressively barked orders in Czech about how and where to park the car, repeating herself multiple times. We attempted to communicate politely in English and even German, but she spoke no English and refused to accommodate any language other than Czech. Her behavior was not only unprofessional but hostile. 4. Unlawful entry and violation of privacy in the booked room. Shortly after we parked and entered our booked room to rest for five minutes, the property owner barged in without asking permission. She began throwing our personal belongings around the room before sitting down herself.
The location of the property close to the center of Česky Krumlov, and the relatively low price of the accomodation.

France• The owner talking loudly and rudely to me like I’m an idiot, presumably because I don’t understand Czech. • The owner yelling at my 9-yo daughter for merely laying down on the bed, the owner yelling at my 88-yo mother-in-law who has difficulty moving around, bossing her to quickly put her shoes in the opposing corner of the – rather large – entrance. • The owner bossing me to fill in a city registration form IN CZECH ONLY with our passport information. Thank you Google Translate! • My wife observed that the owner looked at me with a condescending look as I was looking to access the key box on the gate (as instructed by her email). • The owner checking behind us after we used the toilet or bathroom, rudely insisting that we keep the doors open after use. • The owner checking on us (not very discreetly) as we’re leaving, going to town to get some supplies, suddenly appearing out of nowhere and shouting at us. • The owner really freaked out our daughter with her behavior to the point where she insisted that we did not sleep in that place. • The owner’s attitude and face changed when we got a Czech friend on the phone to do some translation. But by then we were committed to leave, even at the cost of forfeiting the rent. Which we did for a much nicer accommodation where we were treated with basic decency. • Needless to say, while we will gladly come back to Cesky Krumlov, we won’t ever rent this place again and strongly recommend non-Czech speakers to stay away from this place as, corroborated by other reviews, lack of fluency in Czech seems to be what triggers the owner ire and rude behavior.
The moment we left.

South KoreaWhen we first arrived at the place, we were greeted by the host screaming at us. The host continued to scream at our faces and repeated rude gestures that she didn't understand anything we were saying.(We communicated in English. for reference, we are a family who lived in America for over 10 years, and our daughters are native speakers) When you first enter the room, the host yells to fill in some paperwork. Our daughter was screamed at because her handwriting was too small. After finishing the paperwork and paying the city fee, she continued to rush into our room without consent. The next time she entered, she kicked our bags because it was blocking her way. And screamed to shut the doors more quietly. The last incident was when she tried to fight us for ruining her garden grass. It is inevitable to drive over the grass because the parking space is on the other side of the house entrance. After getting yelled at the garden for a few minutes, she pushed herself into our room again and screamed. That was the last draw for us. We had no choice but to raise our voice to tell her to step back and leave us alone. After reading the other reviews on booking.com we came to a conclusion. There are either two hosts or the woman we met is two-faced( a great host to guests who can speak Czechia and a mad woman who continues to scream of HER discomfort)
The place was clean. Close to the city(walking distance)
