The dining area is only open when the meal is served. When we are out of hot water, we have no where to get it. For dinner, they just have fair amount of food for main dish and we can't go back for a second serving.

The staff is kind enough to let us check in early so we can go out to have a hike after dropping off the luggage. The host is also willing to change a small single room to a bigger one with toilet inside the room.

There was no curtain on the window in our room and the sun shone right in in the morning. We did not notice any airconditioning either, although that did not matter to us as it was fairly cool at night.

The bed and breakfast is at a fantastic location near Hřensko. It is about 3 km down the road. When we were there the road was closed so we hiked only around the actual bed and breakfast. Even thought it is not in the main natural reserve the surrounding is beatiful. The BB itself is well kept, lots of wood panelling, traditional, old school, kind of what you would expect. There is large "food hall" with a reception where you can also get drinks in the evening. Dinner was included in the price of the room and it was a řízek and some soup. There were not really any vegetarian options aside from a side salad. The wine from the bar was surprisingly good for the countryside. They also served several beers on tap. We stayed on a Friday night which also included live music performance. The quality was in tune with the BB. There is a fairly large parking lot behind the BB with plenty of space.

No cons about the hotel itself. Be aware that it may look close to Hrensko on a map, but it's actually a bit of a hike with some elevation. Luckily, I don't mind a walk. There is a direct bus from Decin and Hrensko. I don't want this to be a discouragement, just a head's up: they do require part of the bill to be paid in advance as a bank transfer deposit. This takes some finagling, at least for American banks. Not the first time I've done this in the Czech Republic.

Wonderful hosts! I had some great conversations with them during my brief stay, about nature and music. Be ready for some real small-town hospitality: some of the best I've had when traveling in that part of Europe. The room had good lighting, great view, and felt secure. It's a quiet town - Janov. Away from the markets down by the river. I feel like it was a great deal.

A very friendly and quiet hotel. It is certainly a bit outdated, but still comfortable and very clean. Dinner and breakfast are nothing fancy, but healthy and sufficient. The surprise of the stay was a performance by a local jazz pianist. Made for a nice evening!

Checkout is only possible from 9.30 Placing me in the smallest room possible, despite great availability in most other rooms. They said I booked that specific room (doubtful) and tried upgrading me.

Breakfast was so nice on one day i ate far to much.

On arriving late staggering in from the dark forest paths i was greeted warmly, given honest advice about the small room i had selected (sloping roof above bed for very tall person) and offered an upgrade. At this time of year other rooms where available and at such a time of year i was able to choose from two and sich exceptional value it was a no brainer. The hotel is also the tourist information centre and i was given excellent advice about the surroundings and transport as well as a suggestion of a travel map app that made the rest of my hiking so simple. The room could be very well heated with two doors to the bathroom so if needed you could easily make a dry room while keeping the bedroom temperature ambient. The bed was very comfortable and the shower well heated after a long hike. Dinner and breakfast were provided and delicious, a large selection for the morning and fine home cooked food in the evening. Also a amazing local Czech beer suggested. As a considerate traveller over the days i stayed there it felt as if i had been invited into a family home with the hospitality, the family who run it being incredibly soulful. The Pravcicka Brana and wild gorge is nearby to explore, a fun high observation tower in the village. Walking from the ferry to the village takes 30-40 mins so accessible but also away from any tourist overload. Next summer boats will be available from the picturesque gorge to Hrensko also. It was truly an honour to stay there, much respect.

Nice, comfortable, quaint hotel, near located at all Hot Spots of the „bohemian Swiss“. Great selection at the breakfast buffet. We had small organization trouble regarding reservation with dog, but super well and discreetly solved from the manager. Thanks for that. 👍🏻👍🏻 When we we‘re near by, we would swing in again.
