How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewBreakfast was excellent; plenty of food, a lot of variety. We had one apartment for 2 adults and 2 children, 17 and 15 years old. It was quite big, enough for our family. Location is excellent.
The staff. Most of them speak only Czech. Sometimes was it difficult to understand each other.

Verified reviewWe were accommodated in the superior room, which was quite spacious and comfortable, with two large wardrobes. Bed was big enough and the mattress really comfortable. Parking lot is quite large, but if you come during high season it is quite packed. The building is a historical, charming belle epoque style hotel. Located in higher parts of town, but very close to the center and the skibus stop (also not very far away from the Hromovka parking and the starting point of the ski lift). Quite easy access to the city center with all the restaurants and bars. Though if you arrive in the winter, it might be quite tricky (small path leading towards the center is quite steep, not really a problem if you’re wearing regular shoes, but if you want to go down to the skibus or reach the slopes in your ski boots, it might be a challenge, we’ve managed, but some guests may feel a bit uncomfortable). A small, but nice spa center with a jacuzzi and a sauna, not for private use, but not more than several people at once. No problem with reserving the spa center (never heard of any app, you simply reserve it at the reception). The ski room is available with ski boot dryers.
Sometimes (especially in the evening) hot water was not really that hot. It was a bit cold in the bathroom (maybe because of the window). No elevator. During the winter you probably should consider using snow chains for your car to enter the last 700 meters of the road leading to the hotel (and also leaving the parking behind the hotel).

Food most definitely needs improvement, the breakfast was cold every single day, even though Ive mentioned it wasn’t warm it still didn’t improve- i guess the machines they serve the warm food in need exchange

Everything was very outdated, staff was not trained properly, a lot of stuff wasn’t available to get in the restaurant, apparently because of the season ending - not a valid excuse imo. Spa was usable, but you have to make a reservation. Breakfasts were Horrible, I had to ask every few minutes for them to replenish something, I think they would just leave everything empty otherwise. Overall breakfast was the worst I’ve personally seen. Very low effort and standard overall. The menu looked like it was printed by a 6yo child, or taken from some local dive bar that hasn’t changed in the past 20years.

Verified reviewA very good offer for both breakfast and dinner. There is a parking space for every room. Very nice staff, the ladies at the reception helped us with both a room upgrade and prolonging our stay. The hotel is located in a quiet part of the resort, close to nature.
The only disadvantage are the TV programmes, no international channels and mostly only movies in Czech with no news bulletins. But that's alright, there's not much need for television there.

Verified reviewI stayed at the Sněžka hotel for one night. The hotel is very cozy, clean, and modern. The window offers a beautiful view of the mountains. I enjoyed the restaurant with a diverse menu and the sauna. A special thank you to the hotel staff for the birthday cake! Despite not pre-ordering it, the hotel staff found a way to prepare it for breakfast. It was a delightful surprise! I would be happy to stay there again.

Verified reviewGreat location, some rooms must have had beautiful view. The location of the hotel strikes perfect balance of being close to the center but also being a bit out to have the real mountain feel. Location is great.
The price absolutely did not correspond to the hotel stars or the price. I appreciate that the location gets pricy during the season, but the facility was borderline a student dorm for ca EUR 200 per night and this is just unacceptable. When you go through the hotel pictures, you will see completely different standard and you only have to scroll longer to see that the place offers different standards. The place did not meet our expectations at all and we in fact left earlier.
