Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content

- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Great location, the train station is in walking distance, friendly staff. Supermarket around the corner. I didn’t stay long in Cheb, but I definitely recommend this accomodation.

The manager took pity on me after I'd cycled 250km and took me in his car to the supermarket to get dinner. What can I say? Fabulous.

Definitely no 3 star guest house, simple equipped, no reception at weekend and weak communication (despite messenger contact before we had to wait 15 minutes until somebody came)

There is very little to criticise. Even in June, the bedroom felt quite cold in the evening; there was no heating and the bare walls probably contributed to this. Perhaps more could be done to help English-speaking visitors who don't have Czech or German by providing a wider range of information about the hotel and the town.
The pension is spotlessly clean and well designed. The bed is really comfortable, and the principal room/bedroom quite large. Stylistically, it is minimalist, with bare painted brick walls and more room to move around than usual. The staff were exceptionally pleasant and coped patiently with my lack of the Czech language. The breakfast was good value at 7 euros. Most food was standard fare, but the scrambled eggs were very tasty.

Maybe it would be good to provide an electric kettle in the room.
The location is great in terms of walking around the town and the room was comfortable and clean. Good windows for keeping out the noise at night. The breakfast was really lovely and good value. Originally we were put in a ground floor room which was quite damp and with a bit of mould on the walls; when we asked to move the staff were very accommodating and moved us straight away with no fuss into a much nicer upstairs room.

A really good conversion of an older building. The accommodation is spacious and modern. I liked the breakfast options. The location is excellent for the historic core of Cheb, and handy for transport.

One small point is that the bedroom (Room 1), being large, is quite dimly lit, even with the two extra lamps provided.
The accommodation was extremely stylish and comfortable. The breakfast was exceptional value for a small extra charge, as indeed was the bargain booking rate I managed to find.

There was literally one TV channel working on TV and unfortunately there was no option for alternative breakfast except traditional continental - I have food allergies

For us it was perfect. However, those who prefer to sleep on soft mattresses will have problems. Likewise, people who are used to box spring beds might find getting up a bit challenging.
Penzion Papírna is a small, very quiet hotel located in the heart of the city. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. Everything was very nicely yet functionally furnished. The beds are comfortable and car parking is free in the adjacent public gated parking lot. There are three types of breakfast to choose from and always plenty of OJ, water and coffee to go with it. Scrambled eggs are freshly prepared. Overall, we felt very comfortable in the pension and would choose it again anytime we are in Cheb.

The room looks much nicer and bigger in pictures. Is is rather dark, smelly and a bit damp, even the window opened for hours doesn't really help. There is no kettle to boil water, the room is poorly equipped

One should wait for the staff to check in ( reception works some hours per day) Curtain in the shower Poor breakfast Staff want to clean your room before you check out so you should evacuated at 9 am. It is rather difficult to communicate in English with staff
