How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Absolutely fabulous, location #1, breakfast exceptional, and the premises like at home exceeded our expectations. So far the best from our 5 weeks touring. We are coming back...

Was really clean, has everything you need. In some places you can see the love and effort, Penzion Mácha is one of those. We really enjoy and appreciate all the little details and the breakfast was amazing. 20/10

The accommodation is really great. Right in the town center, restaurants and shops in short walking distance. The room was very clean and comfortable. The owners were friendly and helpful. Very nice breakfast.

The beds were a bit too creaky, and the sink was clogged.
The location was perfect, the room and rest of the property was very nice and beautiful. Overall, I would recommend.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this absolutely amazing hotel. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the beautifully furnished and comfortable rooms. The online check in is not optional as the message implies, without it you won't receive the entry code. This was hard as we where traveling for two days and had no internet connection so this proved a challenge while sitting outside trying to figure out how to get in and get in contact. A phone call solved the problem. The parking was extremely challenging with "no parking" signs everywhere ( which the locals mostly seem to ignore but do you want to risk a ticket) after circling through town 4 or 5 times ( many one way streets and no entry) I finally managed to find the ice skating parking . ( There is a gate and a do not enter sign at the entrance) I eventually parked behind the ice skating ring with the risk of the gates being locked at night but thankfully was able to get our car the next morning
Wonderfull apartment and refreshments in the common area Comfy beds . Overall met our expectations

My wife and I stayed at Penzion Macha in Litomerice and had a fantastic experience. The room was very clean, and the overall atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming. We highly recommend it for anyone looking for a pleasant and well-maintained place to stay!

One of the best places we've ever stayed. Sparkling clean, large apartment with terrace, beautiful kitchen, comfortable beds, excellent shower, great lighting, and delicious breakfast. Very secure bike storage and modern laundry facilities. We couldn't have asked for anything more.

Our room #5 was quite tight and luckily we were only traveling with our bike panniers, not suitcases. Other rooms however looked quite spacious.
Great effort has gone into the design of this place, making it feel stylish and modern. Easy bike storage, an outdoor area upstairs to enjoy some time out of your room, and a kitchen area allowing you to prepare your own dinner if needed.

The guesthouse is located in Litomerice, a locality we knew nothing about but which charmed us with the beauty of the historic center. The location is exceptional, 3 minutes from the center, very clean, neat and tastefully decorated. Parking was easy, in front of the building! Varied breakfast with quality products! We will definitely stop by!
