Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

QatarThe parking can get crowded over weekends, the wifi is slow so I had to rely on my mobile data to get things done, there is noise sometimes coming from what seem to be gypsies occupying most of the ground floor (around 5 men, 5 women and some children). I had a small altercation with some of the men once when I was trying to park in front of where they were sitting late night because there were no free spaces available. When I parked, they indicated that I shouldn't park there and tried to tell me that I should park behind one of the other cars which would block it (none of them speak English). I didn't want to block the other car but then the old man started shouting rudely, I kept smiling because I didn't want any confrontation and then felt intimidated to block the other car, so I did. Then someone knocks on my door at 4 am while I was still sleeping, and a desperate lady begs me to move my car because she's a nurse and needs to get to work. I put on my clothes and moved my car, but it was so tight that she couldn't figure out how to get her car out. She politely asked me if I can do it for her and I gladly did, she was so grateful. All this didn't need to happen hadn't I been intimidated by the men to block that car...
The premises seem to be newly renovated, they offer free parking, free wifi, free housekeeping, towels, toiletries, a safe and the room is spacious with a kitchenette including all cutleries, a stove, a microwave and a mini fridge. There's a bus stop right in front for those who don't have a car. There's a large Vietnamese market (Sapa) nearby which has some good food and the exchange places in there offer the best rates in town (even better than the Google rate). None of the staff speak English (the receptionist is Vietnamese and cleaning lady is Ukrainian), but you can communicate through WhatsApp and Google Translate and they always respond. Check-in and check out is flexible if you request.

LithuaniaAlthough everything seemed clean, the smell in house is pretty bad, at least for us windows was opened everytime. Fridge did not have a freezer, walls are thin and it is hard to sleep when neighbours are noisy. Instructions to check in were not clear, we only got them when arrived and called. Also property answered in booking only one time, when was contacted 3.
Place is good, comfortable bed, kitchen, bus stop nearby.

PolandMy son has allergies, so I have no choice but to rent apartment with a kitchen. Utensils are very basic,I mean that if there are 3 people, you have 3 plates,3 forks, and so on. Even though there are pans and pots, there is no spatula, turner or ladle. And the knives are very blunt.
For a short stay the apartment is ok. It depends what you are looking for,the connection to the city center was very good, the stop is located few steps from the apartment. There is free car park avaliable. The apartment was neat and tidy. And we got water on welcome which was really nice.

SlovakiaNot a lot of kitchen equipment + provided pots were slightly bigger the cooking spots when used simultaneously.
It was a small apartment with a kitchenette. We stayed for 2 nights, most of the time we were off the room and it was ok for a short stay. For longer stays I would recommend to get a bigger room and more spacy room. Boiler dedicated for the room.

HungaryThe A/C in one of our rooms was not working properly and it turned out that neighboring rooms share 1 outside unit between them. So if the other 2 room A/C is turned off ours wouldn't work and one remote could change temperatures of every other one. After explaining the situation the staff was not willing to give us the A/C remote because we could control the other 2 (which was empty).
Clean & comfortable.

NetherlandsSadly the staff didn't speak English, but we came far with Google translate. The shower ran out of hot water a bit too quick for my liking.
The apartment had everything we needed. A very comfy bed, a TV with YouTube on it, a small but good kitchen and a nice bathroom. The location was perfect as the busstop was directly across the street and there was a supermarket 5 min away
