We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

CanadaRight next to busy road so traffic noise all night. Auto light switches went off at night if someone walked in hallway. Our bsmt unit was so damp/humid the sheets were wet. A simple dehumidifier would have solved the problem.

UkraineThe only thing that was a disadvantage was the construction work nearby, so every morning we were woken up by a drill and other tools. But this is not the fault of the apartment owners. There were also some interruptions with the Internet at night, but it didn't last long, so it didn't cause any particular inconvenience.
Communication was very helpful and everything was nice. The room was clean and bright. The hosts took into account our wish to check in sooner. Also, all the necessary elements for living were available, coffee and tea were freely available. I liked that the location is close to the train station. And also the fact that the owners were available for communication at any time.

Polandthey blocked the money in my account and then took it a second time for a different (similar) amount. The facility's staff is rude and claims that I sent it to them myself. Absurd. The bank confirmed that they took the money twice. I do not recommend

Czech RepublicThe parking was on street which was full of cars and it was prohibited to park there on Saturday. On Saturday morning the noises wake us up at 7am without any information in advance. There was big building site going on in the garden of the property. The door to the room were shaking when people in the flat or in flat above us were walking so much that it waked us up and every time so we decided to sleep with open doors to our room which wasn’t comfortable because bathroom and kitchen were shared with different group.
It was affordable and mostly clean.

Germany1. The heating system was broken and it was too cold. 2 They have given me a Room under Ground ... They had to mention that .... 3 The underground room has a window on the street level, where a hardworker was doing construction work exactly in front of my window.... 4 Check out 10:00 AM !!!! I have tried to postpone it to 11:30 ... no way .... I had to cut the conference and return back to collect my things !!!! 5. No Bottle of Water .... I do not recommend this Pension for any Body ... Only for urgent events ..... It was safe and in a center place ....

SlovakiaInternet did not work on any of the four devices. Public parking where you can not park after 18:00, there are no free places. The heating in the room was never turned on. In the shower, water poured in all directions, but not on us. The booking invoice showed the amount of 342 euros, and 368 euros were debited from the account, why no one explained.

GermanyAttention! Read the every fineprint before booking here! Make sure to read every detail before booking, so you don’t fall for their fraud practice! Bathroom, toilet and kitchen are SHARED. This information is well hidden (or not there at all) and feels like a purposeful scam to trick you into paying additional fees for a room upgrade. The owner is also unfriendly and unhelpful. I booked the “Twin room with garden view”. On the day of the arrival, I was informed via a text message that the accommodation has a shared kitchen, bathroom, and toilet with other guests. The information about the shared bathroom and toilet not clear from the property description (in fact, there are details about the accommodation such as “socket near the net, cleaning products, seating area, …, coffee machine, tea/coffee maker, iron, radio” listed BEFORE the first mention of a shared toilet and bathroom). To be fair, the info about the shared bathroom and toilet is hidden but there there. The owner said that this was never a problem before, all other guests were aware of the shared bathroom in the past. After reading the reviews, I can see that I wasn’t for sure the first one. With this review, I hope you can avoid making the same mistakes. The key problem however is that the description of the room lists items that are provided “in your private kitchen” which is clearly not the case, as the kitchen is also shared. The private kitchen is mentioned in the booking confirmation received via email too. After contacting the property, I was offered another room (without any kitchen) for extra additional charge, which I declined. In fact, the private kitchen was the key reason for booking with Pension Skylark in the first place. That’s why I decided not to stay there at all and find alternative accommodation. After claiming a refund for the stay due to the mismatched description, the owner of Pension Skylark declined any type of refund. Overall extremely bad and frustrating!
