Since our previous visit here the prices went way up with comfort while really good, still not as much higher up then prices.

Medical spa hotel Hvezda provides a great variety of medical treatment options and resources and also health spa facilities and a swimming pool. The great quality food selection for breakfasts and dinners. Very good location, close to mineral water sources, to parks, and to the places of a great historic value. Variety of available cultural events in hotel itself and in town.

Weak sound isolation in rooms; noise from neighbouring rooms audible, especially loud conversations and TV Overall, Hotel Hvězda offers a tranquil stay with spacious rooms, elegant decor, and the added bonus of a warm swimming pool. However, improvements in hot water consistency and sound insulation would enhance the experience further.

Hardly anything - I just expected more info sheets about the town and the surroundings. The little map (which was available in the town info office and probably not in the hotel itself) does indicate some walks around in colour, but only the parts very near the centre. And what I found really rare on the whole is that this wonderful spa town does not boast its Unesco membership in a big style!!!!!

Excellent breakfast and dinner buffet, a lot of vegetables always available. The swimming pool is magnificent. Even though my room looked on the road and square, the nights (and days too) were perfectly quiet. What's also great about this hotel is the proximity of the colonnade and the park; indeed it is near everywhere you may want to go in the centre of the spa town.

Spa area and access to all spa centers of the four hotels through inner tunnels - Roman Bathes! Quality of the rooms is high and well maintained, location next to the forest and lovely views. Staff is kind and attentive

A little bit slow staff at the reception: we had to wait in line for 15-20 minutes while there was only one family couple before us.

Navigating the wellness facilities and services is very cumbersome. We would have very likely booked more services if we had some better information. Also many of the staff seemed rather unhappy and it felt wrong to ask for anything. Some, like the wait staff around the restaurant, were very nice though.

The architecture and the standard of the rooms is outstanding!

Didn’t like the food, very limited variety and lack of taste. Tea or coffee at the dinner for extra cost. Only water is included.

The location of the hotel is perfect, near by all the beautiful sites. Room is very spacious with modern bathroom.

The place is a post-communist stingy spot with Hapsburg pretentions. If you really want to feel 10 years older than you are - go there. The towels were old, small and falling apart (20 years old?), no hair conditioner or body lotion, law quality shampoo. in the pool area - no extra towels, the idiot employee who gave us some sheets instructed us to use them only in the sauna and to nor dare cover with the, the armchairs. Another idiot employee at the spa reception, as an answer to our question whether this is the biggest pool they have (it wasn't even a complaint, just a question) answered more or less that people come here for cancer treatment and what kind of question is it. The food is mediocre at best, the breakfast seems to be designed in the nineties

We took the eveningbuffet, but quality could be better. Two days after eachother the same fish (shark!) on the buffet is not done for a 4 stars hotel. Also dessert buffet with only a little tiramisu is poor quality. The restaurant has a ballroom size and is not cosy to eat. However it is best to take diner at the hotel beacuse there are not so much seperate restaurants.

The rooms are very nice. The swimmingpool and sauna's are great with plenty of space. We stayed 3 nights and got a free entrance to the Roman baths, nice surprise. The different buildings of the hotel are conneted by corridors, you need to walk from one to the other f.e. for fitness room. Marienbad is a little SPA town, buildings (mostly hotels) are beautifull, you seem to be in the early 1900. You can easily walk to the town and parks. Great hiking and running in the surrounding.
