Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicThe location of the hotel is perfect. Almost in the center of the city, near the Colonada but in the quiet part, near the beautiful park. The advantage of this hotel is the fact that it is part of Ensana group, so you can use different SPA and swimming pools in the neighbor hotels using the connecting corridors I was at the massage made by pan Józef -super!!!

DenmarkA CORNER SHOULD BE RESERVED FOR VEGETARIANS AS WELL AS A CHOICE OF FOOD. The tunnel between the individual hotels is an advantage that you don't have to go outside when you go from the pool to therapy, etc., as long as the path needs to be better marked. Sometimes we got lost when moving between hotels.
The hotel is located in a nice and quiet area, near Colonnade. The room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was good. Nice and friendly staff in the restaurant.

Czech RepublicThe food in the restaurant could be better. It would also be great to have a kettle and tea/coffee station in the bedrooms.
The atmosphere, cleanliness and access to multiple spa zones were lovely.

Czech RepublicThe view from our room wasn't as good as advertised. All the balconies in the long part of the Maria Spa overlook a garden and children's playground, but below the window there is an access road and across the garden there is a car park and entrance from the main road. From 6.30am there was quite a bit of traffic on the main road and workmen arriving in the ''garden'' and one morning a garbage truck emptying bins. Having paid for the more expensive room in the Maria Spa in order to have the view and be able to sleep with the windows open at night, we were a bit disappointed. Having said that, the Maria Spa is the only part of the resort that seems to have just two corridors of bedrooms, so it doesn't have the other background noises that you associate with a large hotel. On our second day, the room was not made up!! We put up the Do not Disturb sign after breakfast as we had to make some calls, but we made sure to switch the sign over before we left mid morning. The breakfast was a typical spa hotel spread of hot and cold buffets with good coffee and breads. The selection of cereals could be a lot better in terms of quality and nutritional value: e.g. bran flakes, nuts, seeds, raisins, prunes, dried apricots - the cereals offered were the cheap and tasteless (apart from sweet) kind. The selection of fruit could likewise be better. One day we had rock hard nectarines, another day rock hard pears. One day cut-up overripe water melon with the seeds inside. I can see that it's easier to put out whole fruits than make large quanities of fruit salad, but the fruit should be put out for breakfast when it can be eaten fresh. The orange ''juice'' was not juice but thinly diluted ''squash''.
Our room in the Maria Spa was very spacious. From the window we could see the pine trees on the hillside outside the property. The recreational facilities (pool, sauna etc) offered by the Ensana group are excellent. We didn't have any treatments, but the list is endless. We liked the sound-effect photos and historic material that decorated the corridors between the hotels. (During the rain you have to use the corridors to get from one building to another) The hotel is walking distance from Main street, the fountains, museum and trail heads. You can get from the train station in 10 minutes by bus or get out of town easily by bus if you want to go further afield and don't have a car.

United Statesto my surprise and disgust this was a third rate place on the culinary front. a dreary looking dinner buffet (which we passed on in favor of a very good dinner at a restaurant down the hill ) and breakfast just as bad if not worse (stale rolls, unappealing offerings in all departments). a very poor showing for such a famous old place.
the impressive vastness of the whole establishment. our spacious comfortable quiet room with balcony. the Old World atmosphere. the photos of olden times along the walls, the sense of history

United StatesLack of access to the Spa facilities. Unhelpful staff. I had not made an Spa-service reservations pre-arrival, and was disappointed none were available the day that I arrived or the morning thereafter. Hence I was deprived of use of the entire Maria Spa that had traveled across the country to experience. I was referred to use a standard indoor pool at a nearby affiliated hotel, reachable via an extensive corridor system, but never got to see or used the classic columned Maria Spa. To top it off, at check-out, I was requested to pay a "Spa Tax". As I had neither seen nor used the famed Maria Spa, I declined to pay this tax. If you choose this facility, book any Spa services way ahead of time. Otherwise just expect a decent hotel priced at a premium for Spa services that are unavailable upon arrival.
Large, clear rooms. But to get to these one has to walk via labyrinth of corridors and underground and even under-the-street passages to get from one hotel section or Spa to another- only to find out you couldn't get into most Spas without reservations for additional services.

Czech RepublicWe stayed at the Esana Hotel recently and overall, the experience was mixed. The rooms were nice and comfortable, although one mattress was quite worn out. The Roman Bath and Spa facilities were amazing, but the buffet for breakfast and dinner didn't meet expectations for the price (approximately 200 EUR per night). Some dinner options, especially the vegetables and potatoes, didn't look very fresh. We had a few negative service experiences. One morning at breakfast, the lights were turned off shortly after 10am, and staff began vacuuming while we were still at our table. When I mentioned this wasn’t great, the response was a raised voice and a message that we should have completed our breakfast by 10am sharp. Quite outrageous. On our final day, our room access was blocked before checkout time, causing my mother to go to reception to reactivate the card just to get her luggage. Disabling room access before the defined checkout time is quite odd. Additionally, we noticed two charges for parking on our bill, even though we didn't use the parking on the second night.
Overall, while the hotel itself was nice, the staff and service left much to be desired.
