Very good hotel. Calm and relaxed vibe like a quiet resort. Nice pool, good size, clean, comfortable temperature, but very salty. It's not a negative as everyone uses the pool in a relaxed manner to not get the salty water in their eyes. Towels are provided and beds are available. The hotel staff is very friendly and has a great level of service. The rooms are cleaned daily. The room had a good size and a nice bathroom with amenities. Comfortable beds. The hotel is in a nice and quiet location within walking distance from the lively Plateau. There are restaurants in the area, but the on-site restaurant is very well itself and food/drinks can be ordered throughout the day. The breakfast is included with plenty of choice. Other good things: Wi-Fi, fitness room and cleanliness all around. We had a great stay and would love to come back here.

The outdoor pool was having a great temperature, but is too salty. You better wear some swimming goggles during your dives :D Or you can enjoy the floating like in the Dead Sea in Jordan. Just be informed that the pool may not be so user friendly for small children/babies due to this saltiness. The hotel is located on the quiet site of Praia and not soo close to the Plato center (which was not a problem for us).

We arrived one hour before check-in time at Pestana, but had the possibility to enjoy the bar facility during our wait. The room was available one hour before official check in time, which was really nice. The room was really spacious and water pressure/-heating in the bath room was optimal. The hotel bar offers nice drinks and good food (e.g. charcuterie board). The breakfast has plenty of options. Staff was friendly and taxi service towards the airport (at night) was of a fair price (around 15 euro/1600CVE).

Cons: sometimes it appeared cockroaches in the bathroom (probably coming from the pipeline); when the hotel was more crowded, they forgot to do the cleaning of the room (however they promptly solve that problem sending someone to do so)

Pros: big room, with a comfortable bed; the shower, with great water pressure; the swimming pool; good breakfast and great food at the hotel restaurant; friendly hotel staff

Service by the pool wasn’t great and beeakfast could improve.

The tv often did not work.

The staff was amazing. The location of the hotel was perfect. Everything was near by. The Prainha beach, the platou. Having the option of car rental by the hotel helped.

We must not forget that we are on an island in a poor environment, so finding this hotel here is already fantastic. It was nice that it was near the coast and the pool area was very peaceful. We enjoyed breakfast on the terrace. The coffee was excellent. We also had lunch and diner in the restaurant and the food was very good.

unfortunately there is no kettle and other extra facilities (tea, coffee,...) for room comfort.

Spacious and comfortable family room, nice breakfast, decently equipped gym. Nice pool with salt water. Hertz car rental office in the lobby, plus an ATM - very practical. Arranged an airport service too upon arrival.

Sea view with high windows no terrace is awful... prefer pool side view.... plastic drinks and no food at the pool... awful. Basic ... maybe safe but not for the price you pay...

The beach isn’t really existing

Staff’s exceptional professionalism and friendliness even after we had to arrive at 1 o’clock at night after a ten hour ferry trip through high waves with a shaky boat, exhausted, they managed to cheer us up with ease. Bravo

It's was a great stay within walking distance of the beach and a nice restaurant and bar onsite. The breakfast was nice and plentiful. The pool was nice too and with plenty of seating all around.

The price-quality ratio of the hotel itself and the room in particular The sea view from the first floor was actually through a three meter wire fence and contributed more to the feeling of a prison In reality, with similar furnishings, this hotel would be a hostel or a one-star hotel in Europe, respectively, and at a completely different price

The cuisine in the restaurant was very good The staff there were also polite and smiling The best impression on me was the live music in the restaurant - the performer was top and contributed to the nice evening the bed was big and comfortable

Not much for kids. Also the beach near the hotel was not the best. And city centre (plateau) far away and there is not really much to do. Not related to the hotel but an heads up, a guy Juvenal stops you at the next beach proposing to go for a tour with him. He says lunch is included and he speaks good English. Don’t go, he was drunk from 9 am and continues to drink nonstop till 6pm, he even vomited in front of us and didn’t pay the lunch not even for our kid. Luckily we were in a group so we still managed to visit something by our selves while he was only getting the rum and the beer at every stop. And luckily there was another driver who was driving. I was shocked tbh. Careful !

The hotel was really nice, in the Embassy area so very safe. Food was really good, we had half board and the dinner at the restaurant were delicious. Pool was big but with salty water.

We asked for double bed but in reality it was two single beds joined together (uncomfortable ones, at that). The window of the room didn't close fully, so we could hear the wind blowing through it all night. The room card stopped working more than half an hour before check out time?? So we had to go to reception to ask to fix it in order to get into the room after breakfast. Overall, not worth the money we paid. We expected more from a Pestana hotel.

Very big room, overlooking the ocean. Very nice patio with big pool. Omelet selection for breakfast. Free water bottle in the room.
