Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ItalyThe bed is not comfortable, the wifi is not working in the room and it’s definitely overpriced compared to the price of the island for what is it is: a nice hotel, nothing special.
It’s a nice building, well designed. The room was clean and nice. It’s in the center of the village, the staff is kind and helpful. Breakfast is good!

FranceThe rooms are not soundproof and the bedding can be more comfortable as it’s clean and tidy. Quite overpriced for what you would get though
Great staff - Janelo was extremely helpful and the lovely lady who helped prepare the breakfast! The hotel is well located. San Pedro beach is one of the best on the Sao Vicente!

TurkeyWhat I dislike the most are the rooms, which are too small for a couple with a kid. Also, the rooms lack privacy because they face the street. Because of that, the price does not match a family's comfort.
The breakfast was great, and the staff was always very kind and helpful.

CanadaSleeping with the patio door open was necessary but meant you heard everything out front. The street dogs are loud and persistent -- bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. Amenities were simple but perfectly adequate. The shower head & glass door configuration could use a re-think as it lead to a lot of water dripping onto the bathroom floor.
Location to the airport was ideal. Good value for our one-night stay. The town is pretty maxo relaxo, and with few amenities. Check in was easy. Breakfast was generous. The staff were friendly and helpful -- arranging transport and finding a place to eat (Nacky's up the road!).

United KingdomInitial shock at our oversized wooden storage container and the cheapest construction I have ever seen, was tempered by its surf shack vibes and cleanliness and friendliness. I think that only one suite had sea views despite being right on an utterly magnificent beach (as long as you are happy with big breakers.) it is the beach with turtles 50m offshore and traditional fisherman ferrying people out to snorkel with them for £10 - which is fantastic! Right next to the airport and delightfully authentic, poor fishing village

BelgiumA bit noisy at night, was fine with earplugs. Would have appreciated a complementary bottle of water upon check-in.
Comfortable stay. Truly fantastic breakfast. Just by the seaturtle beach, restaurants and good starting point for lighthouse hike.

CanadaThe hotel is more like a hostel with only bed(s) and a bathroom. There was 1 small chair in the room but no desk. No minibar. No wifi in room but there was in the lobby where you would have to go if you needed access for emails, booking tickets, etc.
Good location in Sao Pedro. Decent breakfast which they will make available even with a very early flight. Friendly staff with enough communication in English to satisfy our needs.

CanadaThe walls are not soundproof therefore the room was a bit noisy.
We liked the breakfast, the staff and the location, especially the location. The hotel is just 300 metres from what we considered the best beach in the island.

United KingdomThere was no WiFi in the rooms, leaking shower. I think this place was a bit overpriced. Also, could invest in some proper vegan (plant-based) breakfast.

Beautiful location, cosy hotel. We got an early flight and the hotel even arranged a fresh breakfast 5.30am! It's possible to go snorkeling with turtles on the beach 200m from hotel! 🐢

Germany-very warm, no air conditioning -no window, you have to open the balcony door for fresh air (you don't like doing that at night) -no wifi in the rooms -no furniture on the balcony -Roof terrace available: but no furniture here either We were wondering why there is no furniture outside -There isn't much going on in the village, its very small... when we were there (Monday) only one restaurant was open. No supermarket -during the day: loud because there is a school next door - at night: loud because many dogs bark all night long. That was annoying. There are a lot of street dogs A day trip would certainly have been enough
-Beautiful Design Hotel - clean and nice style -Long beach, good for walks or chill (no Beach Club, just beach) -Turtle snorkeling is an experience (you should book in the hotel, its cheaper than in the turtle house) -The staff on site was nice, we were able to check in sooner - good shower

I need to know who did the interior design and the architect of this place! Stunning. The breakfast was beautiful as well, the setup felt very personalized and everything felt intentional. My daughter- 4 years old even complimented on how beautiful the breakfast was and how delicious it was. I tried to replicate it at home. The staff was the best staff I ever encountered as a frequent traveler.
