Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NorwaySometimes, the instructor did not show up for the training - but I guess it's not the hotel's fault. Everything was great!
Best value for money you will find in Santa Teresa. Tropico Latino is an excellent beachfront hotel that offers breakfast at the beach restaurant. They are always doing the little extras to make you happy. The staff is so friendly, thanks to Guadalupe and Andreas from the reception and all the waiters at the restaurant. The food is excellent. The room was so spacious, with a comfortable bed and pillow (!!). For some reason, most hotels have horrible pillows, but here they were great. Yoga and training offers and facilities are so great!

The best structure to welcome you in Costa Rica upon your arrival where spending 5 days in complete relaxation is automatic. Pacific Ocean welcomes you with its waves for guaranteed fun. Breakfast by the ocean ... wellness by the sea ... great. I suggest a Thai massage to recover the parts of the body that sometimes you forget to have

United StatesBecause there was a lot of rain while we were there the water in the shower would not go down in the toilet was bubbling two nights in a row. If it weren’t for this limitation, everything else was great.
You are right on the beach. Multiple people stay there, but the layout gives privacy feels as if you have the place to yourself.

United StatesDrinking water. The watter was not drinkable in the room. You had to go fill up the one bottle provided which was too small. I would provide each person with their own bottle and maybe have house keeping fill them

United StatesAll of Santa Theresa was very busy. We wish the surf was not so strong. Hard to swim there.
The property was very zen with the written affirmations on chalkboards as you walk around. The bar/restaurant was nice. It did take some time to get a drink when it was busy. We stayed in the glamping tent and it was lovely right at the beach. One night was a little loud when there was a music concert at a hotel next door. The reception person was very helpful!

United StatesWi-Fi did not work well, which is tough if you’re working remote from there and rooms could be a bit updated. They also only give you one tiny bottle of water in the room to refill with their purified water. They should give at least 2 because we constantly were refilling.
Staff was accommodating and friendly! Location was perfect! included breakfast was good, views of the ocean, rooms were decent.. could use updating. Yoga was amazing, spa right there. Walking distance to all restaurants and shopping. Beautiful amenities( spa, pool, restaurant, sittting , hammocks, yoga) .

United StatesThere was not one thing I did not like.
The grounds were beautiful! You are in a tropical jungle with monkeys and beautiful birds. The resort is oceanfront and the beach is beautiful. The accommodations are small houses that are spacious, clean, and have a beautiful outdoor porch with a hammock and Adirondack chairs with a comfy couch. The grounds are clean, serene and you are surrounded by so much natural beauty. Staff is friendly, warm and welcoming.

Costa RicaThe exterior of the room was not very good looking, a bit old. And the traffic noise from the main street was disturbing. The parking lot was very exposed with no gate or security. I was worried about my car every night.

Netherlandsthe rooms are a tad outdated
it took us a few hours to get used to this property as it was our first ‘jungle’ experience. the spacious room was furnished with dark wood and it looked a bit spooky to us. however we quickly got used to our bungalow and really loved our stay here. the small kitchen are was appreciated as we could make our our breakfast, tea and coffee. the small grocery shop is just opposite the hotel, it’s very handy. the situation is exceptional- right on the longest stretch of silky smooth beach imaginable, with surfers to admire. I loved the daily yoga sessions right on the ocean, the teachers were excellent and kind. all in all we highly recommend this hotel to other travellers

United StatesThe restaurant made a few mistakes with our food and was a bit pricey, but those are minor things.
Highly recommended. We searched for places to visit in CR and Santa Teresa came up highly rated. Then we searched places to stay and Hotel Tropico Latino came up first. That was absolutely true! Amazing place, gorgeous beach, wonderful staff, very comfortable room, and great town. We even contact them in advance about transfers and they gave us amazing advice. Will go back.

Its a trap. Beautiful location and the restaurant and cocktailbar is great. You can come here without sleeping in the hotel. They charge you for everything. They should have never build the rooms next to the roads. Not friendly staff. Again except for the restaurant wich is highly recommended.
