San Jose doesn't feel super safe to me, but the hostel is only a short walk between two of the main bus stations so it is still very convenient. Also, I had a shower, and there was barely any hot water.

The staff were really friendly and welcoming. There was a relaxed vibe to the place too. The common areas were really nice to hang out in. The room was very comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was great and I got chatting to some fellow travellers.

Lovely place to stay for an early bus out. The area was a little sketchy but very close to the bus station which is what we wanted. Loved the cats and the staff was very kind and the room comfortable. It was just what we needed.

The hostel is well-equipped, has comfortable beds, lots of showers and bathrooms and the place was fairly clean. Although it's located in a questionable neighborhood, it's walking distance to the bus stops. But what made this a great and convenient stay was the staff. So helpful and friendly. Would stay again! (Bonus: the cute kitties running around!)

The 10 bedroom could definitely use a fan because it does get rather stuffy and hot at night. No air circulation.

I only spent a few hours there but the bunk beds were soo creaky and loud it was a little difficult to sleep. There was also no space to put your stuff so the floor was covered in bags.

They actually do have cats at this hostel. Which is fine but Im allergic and I'm don't remember reading that there are cats actually living there. The shower was freezing cold but clean. The kitchen didn't have any cooking oil or really any good pans to make your own food. I felt safe in the hostel but I didn't feel safe to walk anywhere outside of it. San Jose (from what I've heard and experienced) is getting progressively worse and more dangerous. At 7 in the moring when I did walk to my bus I was catcalled multiple times in the span of 10 minutes. I would not recommend being outside any other time of day besides the morning and ubering to anywhere you need to go to.

Super close to all of the bus stations. Its walkable distance but I would only do it in the early mornings if you are going to walk. Breakfast was nice to have as well. Gillo pinto and something else. Not much but filling. The beds were pretty comfortable and it seems like most people do just come for the night.

The breakfast was nothing special.... Just re heated rice with beans and a french omelette.

Location is good if you plan to take bus to go somewhere else. Perfect for 1 night. Their cat is so pretty...

They say they start serving breakfast at 5am, however had to ask the guy in reception to make the breakfast as had the bus to catch at 6am. Reluctantly he made breakfast at 5:25 Room was way to small, barely had space to walk let alone space for luggage

I personally didn't think it was worth the money. I stayed here because lots of other travelers mentioned staying here. Which due to the proximity to the bus stations makes sense. For one night just between travel its quite fine and will accommodate your needs. The showers were cold, the lockers are in the main reception area instead of in rooms, the kitchen is really small for the size of the hostel. I'm not sure if you have to ask reception for the free breakfast? I never saw it out.

The location might be not the best but it is very convenient if you need to catch morning bus from any of bus transit station.

It was busy but got a good vibe, chilled people and there was a music playing in the lobby!!Super cool!!

The outside of the hostel is very off putting and the signage is all but falling off the wall - a pity!

Excellent staff support. Location was good-very close to one bus station, but you need an Uber to get to the others. Easy Walking distance to museum and shops. Great interior wall paintings. Hot showers if i recall. Wifi was ok. Free Breakfast served with a smile from 05.00 hours to 10.00 hours (amazing!)
