Kitchen is outside and it was often really windy and cold so it was not perfect for cooking.

When I first arrived to check in, I was told by front desk that while I waited for my room to be ready I could go to the restaurant next door and grab a bite to eat. I was also told I would get a discount because I was staying at OutBox Inn. However, I wasn't told (even though I later saw that it was posted) that you need to show your key in order to get the discount. It was a pricey meal even though the food was tasty. I also used the information found in the hostel to plan a trip to the Monteverde cloud forest with some other travelers I met. Based on the information in the hostel, I found out there is a cheap public bus you can take at certain times to the forest. A group of us waited at the bus stop for about a half hour before going to another hotel to ask about this public bus and we were told that it doesn't exist. So, I feel like having updated information based on what is happening around the town would have been helpful. Although again, not the biggest deal!

The room was small but it was exactly what I needed. Comfortable bed, en suite bathroom, etc. The restaurant next door had good food and was super close. This hostel offered a nice cozy common space, a deck outside with tea and water, a fridge to put your food etc. Views were fantastic. Kind staff.

Really nice hostel in the middle of town. Great location, really clean. Dorms are nice with huge space around the beds for belongings as well as lockers for valuables. Nice chill-out areas and kitchen for guests to use. There's a cafe next door guests can get % off at. The staff were really helpful with us shipping our drone there from El Salvador as we were travelling through Nicaragua before getting to Costa Rica. The staff contacted us to let us know it arrived and kept it safe until our arrival. Would definitely recommend!

This was one of my top hostels in my trip, what a place. I loved chilling in the beanbags and cooking in the outside kitchen so much. The beds in the dorms have such a spacious space around them, it felt like I had my own lil apartment! Highly recommend.

I could not recommend Outbox Inn any higher! It is an excellent place to stay and has been a highlight in my three month trip through Costa Rica. The receptionists are incredibly kind and went above and beyond to help me out with a range of things, even figuring out how to install a Costa Rican sim card on my phone and offering solutions when my transport to a next city fell through! The hostel's vibe is cosy and safe, and had the most affordable price for a single room that I have come across during my travels. A traveller would be hard-pressed to find higher quality accomodation.

The wifi reception in the dorm was pretty much non-existent, which wasn't a deal breaker for me. It also wasn't that social when I stayed there, but I guess that also depends on the guests and I still managed to find some friends.

The bed was insanely comfortable, I haven't slept that well in ages! There's a lot of space to keep your stuff beside the bed, a dimmable reading light (how amazing is that?!) and very nice curtains. A hostel bed honestly couldn't be better, it was a dream come true. The 4-bed dorm also felt really cozy and you could even separate the two bunk beds from each other with curtains. There were two windows in the room with mosquito nets, so you could sleep with the windows open. The common area is beautiful, having breakfast on the terrace outside is a dream and the whole space feels very open and cozy at the same time. Also, the showers are amazing! Hot water and perfect pressure, which is not easy to find in Central America.

Would not recommend the tours they offer - way to overpriced. It’s a nice stay over for 1/2 nights and do your own thing rather than depending on their recommendations.

Very nice location with different nice restaurants on walking distance. Facilities is the place are ok. By car you can reach easily reach all the sightseeing areas and parks.

Only thing is that the stairs to the top beds were a hit hard to climb and could be dangerous for some people.

The private room hasnt been cleaned in 3 days which I stayed there. I had to go search some toiletpaper.
