Bad distribution of beds, they said there was a microwave and wasn’t true, also when we did the check in they said the AC was going to be fixed before 3pm , we spent there 2 nights , 3 days and it was never fixed !

While we were waiting for our room to be ready, someone broke into our car and stole everything. The hotel cameras actually recorded it all. Locking your car isn’t enough— take everything with you when you leave your car

We arrived early and they had a maid make up a room for us right away. The room was small and no hot water, but it was fine for us. The desk manager was great, and very helpful. Jose, the maintenance man, was wonderful - he was very friendly and helped us solve a bunch of problems(see below) The beach there is beautiful —Black sand, quiet, maybe a little rough for swimming, but perfect for surfing. The setting in really lovely, right on the beach

Needs a bit of cleaning and some quiet hour rules. People right outside our door partying until after 1am. Trash all over in the morning.

It needs some love and updates.

The property is lovely and has potential. It needs some love and attention. Our room was sort of clean- cob webs and dirty vents. The fridge was not clean and didn’t close properly. Should be replaced. The space is super small- but ok and the beds were comfortable. Property is right on the beach- great!! The pool area was very nice 😊

Not much to dislike. But the hotel did show a little wear. But with the beachfront location, restaurant next door, I overlooked the wear . Pool looked like it had a lot of sunscreen in it, it was clean otherwise. 2 beach towels per room, but no hand towels or facecloths or soap. Kitchen did not have any supplies, except a few dishes/utensils, which was fine, but would have been nice to know what was/wasnt supplied. No coffee or filters. I was only there for 3 nights so it would have been a lot to purchase fur 3 nights

So much to like. We booked last minute and due to full booking they upgraded my daughter and myself to a 2 bedroom top floor condo. The view was amazing. Very spacious. Beds were comfy. AC worked well. Staff were friendly and very helpful

The room has AC which is pretty necessary but on the main living room meaning you have to keep bedroom doors OPEN if you want the ac to reach the rooms so goodbye privacy, terrible placement! even some ducts would make a difference. Windows are super thin and cabins are so close together we heard our neighbors talk all thru the night ... not very pleasant. One of the pools was murky and the entirety of the property seemed to have had much better days. I hope it gets restored because its not bad at all, and could be very very nice with some thought out TLC :)

Location on a side of the beach that is super private at night and not busy in the day next to estuary and the property itself is quite large although somewhat neglected but the night staff was nice, the day one not that much - we really likes the gardens and the pool area truly beautiful on a gorgeous sunny day and all the basics were indeed covered - no frills no luxury but decent for the price it was ok.

The facilities are really old and look like has not being taking care of it.

The hotel is in from of the beach. There are restaurants and a supermarket near of the hotel. The pool is nice.

The place needs a little bit of love.

Place is front beach and the pools are great. The entrance is easy and has a big parking lot.

The pools were very dirty, we couldn't use them. The were 2 nice sunbeds but they were reserved for the owners! There were 2 hot tubs but the owner wouldn't turn them on for us! The "apartment" was very small, there was no kitchen (only a very small fridge). The room was so small, the door could not be closed. No kitchen table, just one couch that fits 2 persons but it is an apartment for 4 people. Very disappointing, especially for the price we paid! Don't book this!

Owner cancelled our booking- and three others- without any warning or notice. We received confirmation and booked weeks ago, and submitted all the passport info, only to be told we didn't answer a phone call the day of check -in so they gave our room away. Dishonest.

I was travelling with my disabled and terminally ill sister There were smiles on arrival, and seemed great at first; but then "Karla" was so quick to reproach us for anything we did in breach rules they never told about us (but could not respond to anything we asked for). Karla "reprimanded" us for not wiping our asses in a trash can, but there were no signs and she refused to provide any trash bags for over 48 hours let alone a trash can with a lid. more than 24 hours after I asked them for trash can and bags so I could do a poo, the hosts response was "if you don't like it you can leave". so we left with unused and underfunded money. Please don't ask guest to poop in an unlined bin for 24 hours. on top of that, the place is falling apart. concrete cancer, pool stairs not functional, children cutting themselves and being attended to by other guests. Kalevala and the owners and missing in action, and if you ask for anything they kick you out

What you see on the internet is not what they give you, They also don't have the option to pay by card. The rooms are very neglected, not what you see on booking.

Everything was excellent

Everything was excellent on my stay, the property is very nice very good location and the staff was very friendly. I stay in a condo and was very comfortable very clean and the view from the room was amazing

Very well maintained place set in a beautiful garden. Two pools and also two jacuzzi’s. The location is superb right next to the beach. We booked the basic apartment for four people. One bedroom was quite small with the other one more spacious. The beds were very comfortable tho and everything was clean. The fridge was very handy in this weather. The staff at Marea Brava are very happy and helpful. We would definitely come and stay again, hopefully a bit longer next time! It’s fantastic value for money. Playa Hermosa is such a peaceful and beautiful place. We would chose it anytime over staying at Jaco.

The rooms were not as pictured and very run down. Blinds and fridge didn't work, among other things. All in need of an update. It's a shame as the rooms pictured were beautiful, but where we stayed was DEFINITELY not the same place.
