Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. United StatesWe enjoyed very much our stay at the Jungle Tree House! If you are looking for a bit adventurous and interesting set-up - do not look further! The host was amazing. Bed was comfortable, kitchenette equipped well! We saw few animals too!

United StatesA unique and beautiful experience. You’re up around 20-30 feet, surrounded by greenery and nature. The cabins are beautiful, well taken care of with a sink, dishes, fridge and other amenities. The owner is a great guy that is super helpful. You really do feel emerged into the forest.

CanadaGreat jungle escape in Monteverde. The cabin itself is quite small but managed with 2 people and a large suitcase. Nice clean washroom and kitchen was equipped with standard kitchenware, cutlery, etc which was useful to make some basic meals. The outside balcony/patio is the real selling point, it was so lovely to sit outside and listen to the animals or watch the rain. We saw a coati or two and a fair few birds. There were a few spiders and insects that would find their way inside, but it is the jungle after all! The host provided us with a map and recommendations of restaurants and activities which was great. It was significantly cooler in the evenings so make sure to pack some layers! Overall enjoyed our stay! Just an FYI a lot of shuttle drivers and taxis didn't know about Jungle Living Tree Houses but we just mentioned that it was across from Cala Lodge and everyone seemed to recognize that!

CanadaWe loved the beautiful forest surroundings around our treehouse! Although we knew there were other treehouses close by, giving us a sense of security, our view from our treehouse itself was total jungle, giving us a private jungle vibe with no other treehouses or buildings within view of us. It was such a cool experience! We were lucky to have 2 sunny mornings so we woke up slowly, lying in bed, enjoying the dappled sunlight peaking through our jungle view from the vast windows. I loved Monteverde and hope to go back and when I do, I'll stay here again!

Perfectly positioned, 10 mins from the town and restaurants and supermarket. We were welcomed by the hosts and given lots of advice. Edwin booked our trip for the next day. Listening to the birds in evening and early morning was a real treat.

United KingdomThe road was quite near and noisy, and the property behind had barking dogs… so don’t expect to be deep in the bush. We still saw lovely birds, our coati, some agouti from the veranda and even saw an armadillo on our way back from a night tour, and we could walk from the property.
Very clean, comfortable and well equipped treehouse, in a small copse of woods on the edge of town. Plenty of parking. There were about 4 treehouses but all very private and secluded from each other. Excellent insect screens and well sealed sliding doors, so no wildlife could come inside! On our 3rd night we moved (as our previous one was already booked) and stayed in Capuchin house which was the best- higher up, more views and we even had a coati visit our veranda. Edwin was helpful and gave us 2 good dinner recommendations a very short walk away.

United StatesNo A/C, but a fan was provided, which was more than enough for when we went (March).
The room and even the bathroom very were spacious. We absolutely loved sitting in our balcony in the hammock chairs every free second we had, even if just to sip coffee in the mornings before our adventures. The host was informative and friendly. This is one of the best accommodations we had during our stay in Costa Rica (4 different cities), with the most equipped kitchen. Highly recommend!

Staying in a treehouse in the jungle is such a great experience! They were well thought out, the kitchenette was really well stocked, it was spotlessly clean. Edwin was extremely helpful, especially as we were early. He booked tours and taxis for us. We loved it!

United KingdomThe only thing was by the 4th night, our towels were starting to smell damp, as they don't dry properly in the bathroom, a towel change might have been nice, but I'm sure if we'd asked Edwin wouldn't have minded, it just didn't bother us enough to ask.
Edwin is great, he contacted us prior to our stay with recommendations of what to do in the area, and was always available via WhatsApp to help with our many questions! He is willing to help book tours etc. You can pay to do laundry there, which was very convenient for us. The accommodation is beautiful, we were in 'Agouti' house, lovely comfortable bed, very clean, convenient kitchen area, which we used to make breakfast and some dinners. The bathroom is lovely, with a good shower and hot water, there was shampoo and conditioner, which smelt really nice! Lovely outside area with a huge hammock and chairs and table. We saw so many Coatis roaming about, and agouti, and on all but one morning were woken by howler monkeys, we even got to see a little baby monkey! The location for us was great, out of the town enough to feel peaceful, but easy enough to get to. If you have any kind of mobility issues, you'd want a car, as the road to town is very steep hills (down on the way to town, up on the way back).

CanadaUnfortunately, the shower was cold and the room we had was right next to a road so we could hear traffic at times.
Nice hidden oasis in the middle of town close to the attractions. Loved the privacy of the room and all the small details. Kitchen was fully equipped and the staff that we encountered were extremely helpful and friendly.

United StatesWe were hoping for more wildlife (monkeys) but did see several beautiful birds up close.
The host Edwin was terrific! He recommended a restaurant up high for the best sunset view! A small kitchenette and coffee was available in the treehouse. All glass windows for the best views and bird watching. Big hammock on the porch. Every treehouse was spaced far apart for privacy. 10 out of 10!

Edwin was the best host. We arrived a bit early and he invited us to eat our picnic lunch on the property. We were shown to our treehouses. They were both awesome. Ours had a full sized bed and a smaller kitchen, my son and wife got the Queen bed with a larger kitchen. Both tree houses had nice chairs in their indoor sitting areas. Both had additional seating outside on the deck. Edwin arranged for us to have as night hike. He also arranged for us to have a professional guide- Jonathan - for the clouds forest reserve. (We were having a hard time with reservations online) The tree houses have no a/c but have fans and windows with screens and a heater. We just opened the windows and let the air in! We never felt hot. We loved the little kitchen. We could make coffee and oatmeal for breakfast. We could have made dinner there as well because it had cooking burners and a few pots and pans. They had all the cooking utensils including a wine opener. We also saw lots of birds and had agoutis eating on our porch. (They ran off when they spotted us) I loved this place, and loved Edwin's hospitality, and would highly recommend it to other travelers

United KingdomLike others have said, when it rains it can be loud on the roof. Although it didn’t bother me too much. The howler monkeys pooped on our car haha.
I loved the immersion into the rainforest this place has. The style of the interior is very cool and you can see various animals, we saw howler monkeys, a big troop of coatis and some nice tropical birds. Edwin is a very nice and helpful host, giving good insider tips on what to see/do. He even alerted us to the location of the howler monkeys. I think this is my favourite place I stayed while in Costa Rica. Thank you Edwin for allowing us to stay at an amazing place.

United StatesNothing. We loved everything. Maybe add a rack for the suitcase.
We have stayed in several tree houses before so our expectations were mixed. But this one really exceeded our expactations. The house was spacious, beautiful, functional and nicely set in a forest setting. The house seemed new and had many appliances plus coffee, tea, condiments etc readily available. Edwin, the host, greeted us and made sure we had everything we needed. We didnt see any animals (probably due to the rain) but it was still lovely and very relaxing. They even had a small electric fireplace for rainy nights which was extra cozy. I would definitivly come back!

This property was gorgeous in and amongst the cloud forest of Monteverde. The balcony was amazing and lovely to sit and watch the wildlife. It was clean and tidy and very cosy at night. The bed was comfortable, and the panoramic views of the forest through the windows made for a great view for your morning coffee. The location was great a short walk into town but a bit of a steep walk but up however only a $5 taxi ride! The staff were incredibly friendly - Edwin welcomed us, showed us around and even booked us on zip lining tours and night tours ! I would highly recommend!
