The owner Jonathan was extremely friendly & helpful. The property was exceptionally clean and his staff member Vanessa was also so friendly and helpful. Both spoke excellent English too. Rooms were large and so clean. Nothing was too much trouble. A great stay and kitchen facilities were fabulous. A couple of great eateries nearby too.

Very easy to book tours with the hostel (not overpriced), good kitchen (can get a bit full in the evening). There is a supermarket really close-by. Very good value for money. Friendly people, you can also do laundry.

You have to work hard to find any negatives, but since we're here: the surroundings feel a bit like a construction site, which may remove some of the charm. Also, there are waves of summercamp-type groups coming and going, and the shared kitchen feels like a high-school cafeteria most of the time. You need to plan your meal time accordingly: early morning or around 4-5pm...

The private rooms have all the luxury and comfort you can hope for at a reasonable price. Plus, you get a charming and friendly welcome from the staff at the reception. The owner reduces his price during low season to keep his employees on payroll, that says it all!

Great communal kitchen for cooking, location was only a short walk from the centre of town and the staff were lovely. The shared bathrooms are cleaned thoroughly each day.

Amazing place in the heart of Monteverde. Very close to everything. We booked the studio and were impressed with the amount of attention to detail of the place. Everything was perfectly clean. Fully equipped kitchen, you can actually live there if you wish to. The staff at reception were incredibly helpful as well. Would totally go back to Cattleya whenever i go back to Monteverde

Really nice and reasonably priced hostel in Monteverde, room was super clean and comfortable. Shared bathroom and kitchen were also super clean and well stocked. Would definitely recommend.

Not an issue for us but maybe in the future: the bathrooms don't have any ventilation which increases the risk for mold development.

Perfect hostel: kind and helpful staff, rooms and bathrooms were very clean, the room was very bright and seemed to be quite new, town center in walking distance, well equipped kitchen, laundry service available, tours could be booked on the spot. Exactly how a hostel should be!

It’s really hard to think of things we didn’t like but if we had to pick something, we try not to use plastic especially single use so an organic waste bin and biodegradable bin bag in the bathroom would have made this the perfect stay

Stayed in a Family Room with Private Bathroom. Free and fast WiFi. Room was spotless. No AC but there is hot water in the shower. Beds and pillows were comfortable. Front desk was quick to get me checked in. They accepted USD or Colones. Easy parking.

The smell of mold when we entered the room. We know it is very hard to fix it in this party of the country but there needs to be a solution for it.

There were some sugar ants that found their way to the pack of gum (presumably) in my bag and had a long trail running across one of the beds.

It is outside of the city center on a less busy street, so slightly quieter. Extremely clean. The only place I stayed within my modest price range that had warm water in the shower. Friendly staff.

Locating property and getting the room was straight forward. The property is in the industrial area but we felt safe. Their common room/kitchen area is a great place to meet other fellow travellers.
