I think our room would have benefited from better airing! But it was perfect for our few nights stay!

Great location and the most friendly and helpful reception team!! :)

The common area, with the view over the town and the mountain, is the real draw, with an excellent breakfast a nice bonus. I did feel the room a bit damp due to poor aeration, but then you're in an urban area. And there's nothing you can do about the moto revving on empty roads; apparently, noise pollution hasn't become a trend yet.

The constant high wind during the dry season rattled the loose windows.

We stayed in a double room with kitchen and it was fantastic. Clean, comfortable, and spacious, with an incredible view. The included breakfasts were delicious and generous, and the dining room and patio with swinging chairs was a great place to hang out and meet the other travellers staying in the hostel rooms. An easy walk into the town centre. The staff were super friendly and incredibly helpful, and assisted with making all our tour arrangements, and the kitchen staff were also amazing.

We were told on arrival we had to pay additional money which we hadn't expected. When you book and get told the amount you'll pay at the property, you don't expect to end up paying more. We may have chosen a different place had we known Lots of rules. Not sure if this is down to pervious guests but it felt too much - we're on holiday. Also didn't like that when we checked out they went to check the room before processing. It made us feel like they didn't trust us. Our least favourite experience in CR.

General location good. Breakfast each morning prepared

Good stay and shared bathroom option was fine for us. The space is clean. Only thing that bothered us is the nearby location to the road. Our room was adjacent to it and it was very noisy with the motor cycles and even someone with a chainsaw at 3AM?! Breakfast was good, reception staff was friendly and helped us book tours and arrange everything. Kitchen space was fine to prepare a simple meal. Popcorn machine was nice addition. Woman leading the breakfast staff could’ve been a little more warm, she didn’t seem a morning person…. Overall fine value for money but I wouldn’t book a room next to the road again.

I felt a bit rushed on check in, I'd just arrived from the bus, was a little travel sick and overheating but was asked many questions about the time I wanted breakfast, pick ups, tours, it would have been nice to have a moment to think, I did try to, but felt pressured to make a decision It is also not for the light sleeper, you can hear everything next door and downstairs, people walking passed and the road, there are too many motos riding back and forth with suped up engines at speed - I have stayed in Monteverde before and usually sleep well

The staff were friendly, the apartment was spotless and there was a free breakfast on offer plus the view

This is not something that the property could manage, but it is right on a busy road and the noise from the traffic went on all night. A suggestion is to not to stay on the road side of the property. (#4)

The staff was very helpful with booking shuttles and giving information on things to do in Santa Elena. The breakfast was wonderful and the kitchen for guest use was well stocked. The property is within walking distance to restaurants and downtown Santa Elena.

Very noisy because of the strong wind.

Nice stay. Studio with a nice view. Great breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. They organise your tour to the reserves: a bus comes to pick you up at the hotel, and drop you there too once back from your trip. Close to supermarket/restaurant, and only a 10-min walk from the bus terminal.

The only thing we didn't like was the weather, it was stormy and rainy and the winds howling so loudly at night.

A very pleasant place to stay, well organised and imaginative. Staff very helpful with information about the parks and arranging transport there. Lovely views especially from our room, good facilities and breakfast.

Dampness in air and clothes can’t dry, but you are in a cloud so a lot of moisture around!

Great views (with and without clouds!) few minutes walk from main centre, Ro on reception was super helpful and very knowledgeable. Room good size (was a solo traveller) and separate bathroom had hot water showers. Bed was comfy, plenty of pillows and blankets to keep you warm and bath towel included. Free breakfast was bonus, was basic but helped set you up for the day.

Everything was fine here, only the personal was very strange, when we came around 9PM, and they tried to show us, that we were welcome, but it was strongly felt we were not. Sorry, I never forget this behavior. We were 12 persons, we send them few messages from the way, when we lost the way, so they knew it.

The common areas seem a little dated. The room had very poor noise insulation so you can hear the road and the super strong wind - but with earplugs you’ll be fine. There is also a very limited storage space in the room (no racks to hang your clothes). You can’t choose your breakfast - but the food we had was very nice so this wasn’t an issue for us. However, the common kitchen was open only from 12.00, which is not so convenient if you have an early check out.

The staff was very kind, friendly and helpful - gave us a lot of tips and recommendations, also helped arrange a shuttle to a cloud forest reserve which you can’t book yourself online. The room was very clean and breakfast included in the price was very yummy. The location is convenient, close to a supermarket, Santa Elena town center and a few great sodas.

The suite is really noisy. You can hear the motos and if the wind blows, it will wake you up. We were with a child so sleep is even more important.

The Breakfast is incredible. From toast to waffles. Different every morning. The view is breathtaking! There is a small lounge cover upstairs and a sunny balcony both open to public. The staff was resourceful and really helpful.

No air-conditioning (was fine with the weather in April) and with a street side room you can hear the occasional car driving by.

The property has a fully equipped kitchen and they provide a very good breakfast. The staff was friendly and helpful (with a special type of humour 😉). The accommodation is very good value for the price.

We have almost no complaints, however it would have been nice to have a screen on the window.

The common areas were all really nice and a great place to relax with a nice view of the town. Friendly staff and very clean room. Great, updated private bathroom. Delicious and filling breakfast. There was a nice fan in the room.
