We were there for several nights and there was no housekeeping. Overall, that's not a problem, but it would have been nice to have the bathroom trash emptied since in Costa Rica, all toiletry items are placed in the bin.

Ro and all of the front desk staff were amazing. We were a large group of 13 travelers and he (and others) helped to book so many different excursions and transport. They were very communicative over WhatsApp ahead of our arrival and were very accommodating, kind, and thoughtful! There are great restaurants all within walking distance. Our whole group had a really excellent stay and cannot wait to return!

If you visit Monteverde you likely won't be spending much time at the hotel. This hotel had all the basic things we needed, however, what made it great was the incredible energy and kindness of the front desk staff Ro, he was AMAZING!

The time you come down for breakfast every day needs to be pre-booked at least a day in advance. A lot of payments (e.g. laundry and shuttles) had to be in cash Laundry was very expensive, we did a medium-size load and it cost over $26

The views from the window and outdoor seating area were stunning. The room and bathroom were very clean and the shared spaces were really good for meeting other travellers Free popcorn machine with the kernels, and the breakfast varied every single day (pancakes on day 1, toast & scrambled eggs on day 2, and waffles on day 3) with cut fruits, cornflakes and hot drinks every day. Our stay could have been improved with some bedside lamps as the main light was super bright, and the plug sockets were high of the ground, so not ideal with a heavy adaptor, but these were minor things.

This hostel/hotel is one of the best we have stayed in in the 6 months we have been travelling! The breakfast was great, comfy beds with TWO pillows each (priv double room). Good location, close to shops, supermarkets and restaurants. The staff were so helpful and friendly, answering any questions we had and even writing out bud directions for our journey to the Costa Rica/Nicaragua border (Thankyou Ro!!!). The kitchen was really nice and stocked with plenty of cooking equipment, and the free popcorn machine was a delightful surprise. The main balcony/social area was such a lovely spot for a morning coffee or sunset viewpoint. We loved our stay here, could not recommend enough!!

Fantastic views, perfect rooms, and even better staff. We had the best stay at Cabinas Vista Al Golfo. Ro, Diego and the ladies in the kitchen made sure our time there was perfect. Nothing was too much trouble and they were helpful in every aspect. Booking tours, restaurant recommendations, or even just a chat when we returned from a trip. We are so happy we came here, it has made our holiday.

The two shared bathrooms could use some modernization; they seemed rather spartan to me...more like a mountain hut than a hotel. But they were very clean. Breakfast could be a bit more, but there is also a shared kitchen.

I definitely recommend it; I would book again anytime! It wasn't exactly quiet due to the heavy traffic on the street. But I slept well with earplugs.

Room was simple, clean and comfortable. Views good, on outskirts of town with everything in walking distance. Ro was very helpful and booked our zip lining for us, going through all the companies and their pros and cons. Breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked, coffee not bad either. Shared kitchen was basically, but useful.

Everything was great, nothing specifically to call out. If the bedroom had a wardrobe it would have been nice but didn't affect the experience too much.

Breakfast was really good, the room was basic but very clean. My favourite thing was the welcome received from Ro, he was incredibly friendly and gave us loads of information about the local area. There was plenty to do around. 2 to 3 days was enough but no complaints on the accommodation, good value for money!

Vista Al Golfo is truly a real gem in Monteverde, and the staff are all so friendly, warm and kind. We had a beautiful room that overlooked the town and mountains, and we were served the most delicious breakfasts every morning. Louise and I agreed that our stay here was our favorite and most memorable.

Inflexibility with offering breakfast outside fixed slots. We had an early morning cloud forest 2.5hrs walk, requested abit of the breakfast (fruit) 15 min earlier to the start time but was denied despite the kitchen had them ready. There is no place around to get a breakfast.

Excellent facilities, amazing two double bed bedroom, super confy and super clean. Great views to the valley, I could even see the sunrise from the window.

This is a very unique and comfortable bed and breakfast. Our host, Ro, was helpful, charming, amusing (hilarious), and so welcoming. The room we were in was remarkable. So simple yet tastefully appointed. A great REAL breakfast with lots of fruit eggs, cereal, wonderful coffee and juice. There are so many cozy common areas with fantastic views of the mountains. See the sunrise photos attached. It is very easy to park and walk all around downtown Santa Elena. It is the best value that we experienced in our 17 day stay in Costa Rica.

Parking. Parking is an issue and the attitude toward it is a little odd. The place is not in town, so really you probably want a car. And they have I believe 7 dedicated spots (one at the property, three next door, and then possibly three more if people park decently next next door). But, there are 12 rooms. And the whole of the street parking is peppered with signs saying don't use street parking, and the staff were a bit adamant about that. So. There is a math problem here that the approach of "non-reserved available parking" seems to ignore...

The open spaces were quite nice and chill and breakfast was decent.
