Comfortable stay very close to the beach.

Perfect location for an overnight stay after or before having a guided tour to see the arribada. Host was really nice and helpful. We arrived on Sunday and there was a soccer competition across the street, super nice. Small room, but with an aircon and hot shower!

Overpriced unless there were 4 of you as the only room available had 2 bunk beds. Expectations were not high as this is rural CR but there was no active restaurant or bar on site. Could not ID front entrance.

Proximity to turtle refuge, playa, etc. Staff were all very cordial, friendly and helpful. AC in room worked but along with road noise was a nuisance. Parking was available. It was safe to stay here.

The room was quite simple for the price, and it smelled of mold. The road leading there from Sámara was really bad.

It was right next to the beach, in a quiet village and there were a lot of animals around the house. The food we ordered was very good, the hosts were helpful and frendly.

The cabinas are on the main (only) street that runs up the coast and through Ostional. The road traffic can be loud, at least for the cabins near said road.

The breakfast was excellent, cooked shortly after I arrived at the breakfast table each morning. Access to the beach follows a 100 metres walk. The hostess was very friendly and helpful. Parking on the property was easily managed.

It is not a place to surf or a place for surfer has you can’t surf from the beach. Can’t even go to the beach.

Was very difficult to find. No sign anywhere of Cabinas Surf Arribadas. All hiding by a green textile. You don’t see outside from the place .

The place is hard to reach. Long rocky dirt road. The host is trying to charge us additional $9 for parking. After we refused, she gave up. Very dated room.

Ostional is hard to reach by car, the road is in very poor conditions. Be prepared to cross a river.

This is the best place to stay if you want to see the arribada of turtles! The starting point of the tours is just right across the street. Ostional is quite far to drive from other locations, it is advisable to drive there in daylight and stay in the village for a night. The house is basic but comfortable, the rooms have AC and stable wifi. The hosts were super kind depsite the language barrier.

Ostional is a very nice place, but do not stay at Cabinas Arribadas. Really, don’t. The room I booked can sleep 4 persons, but that does reduce the space of movement in the room to a bare minimum. 4 persons also have luggage, obstacle course when that’s also in the room. The ‘rack space’ isn’t sturdy enough to hold suitcases. The room wasn’t clean at all, stains on the sheets and towels, the lights and ventilator looked like they had never been cleaned since they were mounted, given the cacked layer of dust. Shower curtain was pink at the bottom and black mold could be seen in the bathroom on various places. Serious health hazard. I wore my slippers in the shower to avoid getting foot fungus. The ambiance in the common area is nothing like the pictures, they use it to hang laundry, it’s very dark and the view is obstructed. Kitchen can be used, but honestly don’t. It’s in the same state as the rooms. Glad that I didn’t opt for breakfast there. Electronic payment wasn’t possible, their terminal was broken/not working. Didn’t have enough cash so had to make an international bank transfer in the end, which introduced additional costs. By mistake I transferred the wrong (excess/almost double) amount to them. Which I could clearly show with the official Booking.com confirmation versus the transferred amount. You would expect that a honest businessowner would credit the excess payment. However they simply state that they won’t credit me. They even dared to state that I transferred insufficient! Basically this reduces them in my option to frauds and thieves, as they keep something that they weren’t entitled to in the first place. Booking.com was nice enough to compensate me, kudos to the,. This place / these people doesn’t deserve your money, so stay somewhere else in Ostional.

The best thing about this place, was leaving it. Yes there was a bed and a dry roof over my head to stay. But that's it. Really. I was glad to leave this place and these people.

Really bad smell in the room, rooms are very basic. Parking situation is not comfortable, two cars will be blocked by the cars before them. Unfriendly lady at the cabinas is not helpful at all.
