We loved this room, it was an experience on its own. It was like staying in the heart of the jungle. The room was clean and offered all necessary amenities. Parking space right outside the room, very easy to navigate to town and back, however you need a car to reach town, supermarkets and restaurants. We had an amazing breakfast, with the company of two agoutis. Personnel was very friendly and helpful. We definitely recommend staying there.

A super family run hotel overlooking stunning scenery, forest, woodland, mountains and the Pacific Ocean. Sofia, Betty and David are the perfect hosts, very kind and thoughtful people with a wonderful sense of humour. They can't do enough for you. The breakfast is delicious and is different each day served with fresh fruits, orange juice and organic coffee with toast and homemade jam. It's set above the town of Santa Elena around a 15 minutes walk. Catch a cab back as it's pretty steep. There's a lovely sloth sanctuary close by which is worth a visit. The hanging bridges are well worth seeing, a short car journey away. Also the orchid garden is fantastic. The rooms are exceptionally clean, comfortable beds and great hot running water and WiFi. David ( the father) feeds some of the local wildlife, aguti and coatis which are a joy to watch. I will definitely return to this amazing place.

The family (three generations) running the hotel is wonderful. They could not be more helpful. The hotel is simple but perfect and enjoyable sweeping views of the Nicosa gulf. The breakfast is typical of Costa Rica with a bowl of fresh fruit, eggs, toast with yummy jam and freshly made fried plantain and gallo pinto. The family also makes sure all rooms are stocked with coffee in the room and offers complimentary coffee near the reception. They are also exceptionally knowledgeable about the area and activities on offer.

Nothing comes to my mind. If you want to be close to the city of Santa Elena and don’t feel like walking uphill, this might not be the best stay for you

As mentioned by others, the walls are very thin. It didn't really bother me, though, and my son is apparently a drama llama because he was highly entertained by the couple bickering next door. Our room did not have the view of the valley that some did but I felt that was clear in the advertising and we only had to step a couple feet out the door to see the view.

We loved the feeling of being surrounded by the green of the rainforest. When it rained, it was like being in our own little world. Also, as a nature nerd, the variety of cool insects and small creatures around the cabin was really cool. I did not see a single bug inside, however, and the room was very clean and comfortable. The family that owns the place was very friendly and accommodating. The woman running the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Her da was delightful, chatting with everyone at breakfast, which was excellent. He even told my teenaged son to put his phone down for ten minutes and enjoy the view. And he did!

Our view was obstructed by another house, which was a bummer. This could easlly be fixed by naming the different rooms, linking them to the views, & pricing more or less by view.

The room size was great, and breakfast was lovely.

We had a wonderful stay at Flor de Bromelia in Santa Elena. The place feels authentic and welcoming, with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The host was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our visit. We also loved the presence of wildlife — several animals stopped by during our stay, which made the experience even more special. And the view… absolutely stunning! Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful and nature-filled stay in Monteverde.

The breakfast was quite weak limited choices and not very filling. This part could definitely be improved to match the rest of the experience.

The host was incredibly friendly and welcoming. It’s a lovely family-run business, and you can really feel the personal touch in everything they do. The atmosphere was warm and homely, and we felt very well taken care of throughout our stay.

The hot water was a bit tricky to figure out in the shower, but the proprietor did help us get it working. We were in a lower unit and one morning had VERY loud neighbors upstairs before dawn -- not well-insulated for noise. Also, must be on septic, as we had issues with toilet clogging when toilet paper was used -- staff promptly took care of this, however.

We really enjoyed the location of the property, set high up on a hill with views all the way out to the Nicoya Peninsula on a clear day and wildlife roaming on-site. A very sweet family-run place -- daughter at reception helpfully booked a Night Walk for us and patriarch served us a lovely breakfast each morning. The unit was spotless, though older decor as pictured, but well-equipped with a full self-catering kitchen. Enjoyed the vistas from the unit's deck, and the feeling of being "up" in the cloud forest.
