Great hotel not far from the airport - 10-minute-drive if there is no traffic jam: very nice family rooms, beautiful tropical garden, lots of amenities for kids, places to sit and relax for adults, and a small swimming pool to relax after a visit or after a long flight We spend 3 days there with the kids, and they loved it!!! The owner is nice and goes out of her way to help I can't recommend it more

A little difficult to find, specially since we arrived at night.

Rooms were big, the property is beautiful and gardens and surroundings a great place to start (or finish) your Costarican vacation near the airport. Do yourself a favor and skip the city. Good breakfast.

No complaints!

Our host Margarita was exceptionally welcoming, and helpful! This is a great way to end a week in Costa Rica with our family convenient to the airport, but in a beautiful relaxed setting with a view of the Poas volcano! The rooms were large and the beds were comfortable and we were pleasantly surprised to see a good selection of toys and games for our kids to play with! Our boys really loved playing with the dogs, especially Matilda, the soccer loving pup!

The maintenance of the pool. It seems not clean. The payment was higher than that showed in Booking because an extra tax. According to the owner, booking doesn't include that tax.

The owner went out of her way to accommodate us. We arrived later than we anticipated and, when we had to leave early, she prepared us a breakfast to take the night prior. The common area/dining area was really nice and there’s a large selection of snacks and beverages. We especially loved learning about the rescue animals on the property and loved visiting with the dogs and Bobby the cat! I only wish our stay had been longer.

Our time at Villa Margarita was amazing!!!! Margarita and her staff were extraordinary and so hospitable. We arrived late from a long day of flying and she whipped us up delicious food! The grounds were beautiful and beds were comfy! We would stay here again in a heartbeat! Recommend to anyone and everyone!

Absolute paradise only 20-30 minutes from SJO. If you need a place to stay close to the airport at the beginning of your trip in CR, you should stay here. A longer stay would be great as well, I just can’t speak to its convenience to local attractions other than SJO. The grounds are beautiful, the staff is lovely, the rooms are charming, the beds are comfortable and the included made to order breakfast is delicious. I booked this for our last night in CR because I knew a standard chain hotel would be soul crushing at the end of our trip - I will recommend this hotel to anyone I know travelling to CR!

Villa Margarita is a little piece of heaven. For us, every trip to Costa Rica starts or ends at Villa Margarita. Margarita herself is always present no matter what time of day or night and always cares about her guests. She and her dogs and cats are an absolute joy and make every stay delightful. Close to the airport and San Jose but far enough away to feel like country. A 10 out of 10 for us.

Our second stay at Villa Margarita, a great spot to spend a night at the beginning or end of the trip as it's an easy trip to or from the airport, yet just far enough away to have a quiet and comfortable stay in a local neighborhood. Due to heavy traffic around San Jose, we recommend a night close to the airport at arrival and departure to save yourself the stress of having to make a long and difficult drive before or after a flight. A number of good restaurants close by, and the Villa provides a great breakfast. Margarita is a great host and very attentive to her guests. We would stay here again for sure.

I loved how special this property was, especially the attentiveness of the owner, Margarita. She was so sweet and accommodating! We arrived late to the property, but she stayed up late to warmly greet us, help us with our bags and even stayed up late to make us a beautiful homemade dinner! In the morning, her and her staff made us a wonderful breakfast. We could tell that Margarita poured so much love into her property. The whole property was lush, green and filled with quirky decorations.There was a huge playground for kids, a pool and the room was perfect. Quiet, clean and great wifi. This place is magical!

Tropical paradise. Quiet, beautiful well maintained property with charm and Margarita who is an exceptional hostess😍loved every single thing about it. Sweet, well thought out room, lovely gardens and place to hang out, great food! Friendly, well behaved rescue dogs.

A litlle suprised that there is no TV or air conditioning in the room but in the end you really don't need them. You have a large overheand fan and wi-fi is availble throughout the property.

The actual owner is really nice, "hands on" and helpful. Liked the ease of getting around the property and the little bohemian feel. Nice little eating area with drinks available on the "honor system". Included breakfast is very good and even if you aren't in the mood for pancakes they aren't traditional and really good.
