Other than that, you get what you pay for. A simple room, nothing fancy. The train starts honking at 5 am, but I was up early so it wasn’t a problem.

I felt safe here. Which was my single most important requirement for this stay. I arrived after dark at the bus terminal, found a cab in the taxi queue, and paid 3000 colones to get there. The driver even knew the hotel and where it was. The hostess is the sweetest lady who made me feel very welcome. There even was a small earthquake and I felt safe!

The property is attractive with a veranda above and is akao nice inside. It's located near restaurants and an ATM. It's quite. In the morning you can get a nice breakfast.

Everything for perfect for the short stay in San Jose.

Great location, very clean spacious bedroom. There is also balcony to enjoy outdoor and downstairs living area. I stayed one night when I arrived San Jose. The owner kindly store my heavy suitcase for two week while I was exploring other part of the Costa Rica with a small backpack. I returned to stay here for another night before my flight to Europe. There is a plenty restaurants and big supermarket near by, walking distance to bus terminal and town centre.

Not much, so I'm nitpicking here - perhaps a lamp in the room.

I loved my 3night-2-day stay at Hotel Trianon. Please keep in mind that CR is one of the most expensive countries in that region - with costs comparable to many European countries. The messages I sent to the property were answered in a timely manner, so I knew that when I reached after 9.30pm, someone would be there to check me in. My room was basic but that was the expectation, given the price. The bed was comfortable and the linen was clean. I had an attached bathroom and I could have my room cleaned everyday. The location was excellent- about a 15-20 minute walk to Central Mercado and close to plenty of restaurants and super markets. And there is a lock on the main door, so it was secure. Most of all, I liked that the owner Aida, went above and beyond to help me and make my stay easier.

The only complaint I have was the temperature of the water in the face basin and the room itself. Both were quite cold.

The location was very good. Quite easy for me to walk to the place where I conducted some business. I like very much the woman who managed the hotel. She was very friendly and made me feel at home (unfortunately, I neglected to ask her name). I also liked that there was a small 'venta' on the property where I had breakfast. It was managed by a gentleman who was also very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. Also the cable tv and free wifi were much appreciated.
