Stayed 3 nights at Alma del Pacifico and it was such a beautiful place to start our stay in Costa Rica. The location was stunning with our room facing onto the pacific. The staff were friendly and attentive and we were grateful for their help for an issue that came up on our trip. The food in the restaurant was exceptional. We rented a car and drove from San Jose . We explored Manual Antonio park which is around a 45 minute drive away but the kids were happy just to spend a day exploring the hotel grounds and swimming in the two swimming pools. Would highly recommend.

The beautiful colourful design makes us so happy. The staff is incredibly kind and always smiling. We love the restaurant too.

The only thing not perfect is that much of the outdoor furniture is very run down and sometimes broken.

Beautiful views. Staff was helpful and very attentive. Adgally and Freddy were great fun! The beach is right at your finger tips. The pools were clean.

Breakfast was wonderful, but lunch and dinner food was just so-so. It was overpriced and not very good compared to other places we went.

The location, breakfast, and the accommodations were excellent.

There was one employee that just seemed bothered by us but was pleasant to other guests. We ordered dinner and the fish tacos was just one gigantic taco (like a burrito folded in half) and the grilled sea bass just tasted like the char from the grill and it just overpowered the meal. The bed was very firm, which may be great for some but not great for side sleepers.

We had spent 3 nights in the jungle in the Osa and two nights at Manuel Antonio National Park when we booked three nights at Alma del Pacifico. This was wonderful. Our check-in was handled by Ashley who was very helpful. Our room was a private, walled-in cabana close to the swimming pool with a short walk to the beach. The room was airy, clean and tastefully appointed with an indoor and outdoor shower. The food was wonderful and the wait staff were very good, especially Angie and Freddy who helped us with our imperfect Spanish. After dinner, we would have drink at the bar that was close to the beach, Great to watch the sun go down. The facilities were top notch. The pool was great as was the ocean. My husband and I both used the spa and I got a wonderful neck and shoulder massage from Yelena (apologies if I misspelled her name). After hiking through National Parks with a lot of camera equipment for almost a week, she worked wonders on my neck and shoulders.

    That we had to leave.

This is a wonderful hotel and resort in a very quiet part of Costa Rica, yet so close to all the Natural Parks and activities. It is right on the ocean - you actually walk out of your room, on to your patio, and then you are on the beach and the ocean. You can walk for miles, and see McCaws fly right in front of you. They have a wonderful restaurant and a wonderful pool area.

Our experience at Alma del Pacífico was truly exceptional. The hotel offers an impressive combination of privacy and natural beauty, with spacious villas just steps away from the beach. The setting provides a perfect blend of relaxation and luxury. What truly set our stay apart, however, was the outstanding service. Every member of the staff was attentive, courteous, and genuinely welcoming throughout our visit. My wife especially enjoyed her time at the spa, which she absolutely loved.

While our overall experience was wonderful, we believe the pool area could benefit from additional shaded spaces. Although there are a few tables available, the existing shade was somewhat limited during peak sun hours. Adding more umbrellas or sun-protected areas would greatly enhance guest comfort and encourage longer stays around the pool.

The problem with this place is there is nothing around and they have no car at the hotel to take you anyway so you're kind of like left stranded.

I was there for 5 days.Housekeeping only came twice if you were in your room to change during the day and they came by.They never came back the air conditioner leaked. The fan made noise all night long it was a problem

Our stay at Alma Del Pacifico was ALMOST perfect. The hotel is beautiful, the beach access is perfect, the facilities and spa services were excellent, and eating meals looking at the ocean was magical. The kids had a blast in the pool and at the ocean all day. It is a stunning location that we loved. The food in the restaurant was decent enough to keep us from driving to other restaurants. Granted, we had been driving a lot around the country the previous nine days and did not want to be in the car any longer. The restaurant has an amazing view of the grounds and the ocean, which made up for any shortcomings in the food.

On Thanksgiving night my family was eating dinner at our usual table, enjoying a great time. For some reason there was a stray dog wandering around the restaurant. We had been there for four days at this point and ate every meal at this restaurant and no dogs had ever been there before. The staff seemed to know the dog and didn't do anything to get it out and stop it from begging for food all around the restaurant. The dog eventually made its way to my three year old daughter. We tried to get it away but it eventually made its way back to her without us knowing. Like any three year old would do, she tried to pet it. It decided to bite her instead of being petted. We got very lucky that the bite didn't break the skin and she was just bruised all around her arm. The staff couldn't have cared less. They kicked the dog out and kept acting like everything was fine while our daughter was crying about her hurt arm and asking "why did that dog bite me?" The manager, a bigger guy we had seen during our four days there, was in the restaurant having a big party with lots of guests. The one waiter that cared went to the manager and told him what had happened. He waved his hand nonchalantly and went about his gluttonous meal without a second thought. Perhaps the dog was the managers? We don't know because no help or explanation was given to us. Not a single apology was issued. It definitely soured our experience towards the restaurant staff.
