Positive section of review
The suite was very spacious, and the price was very good. Staff was helpfull. Breakfast was good, it had both savory & sweet sections. The location was very convenient next to the Arbat (main walking street of Shymkent) & near a lot of restaurants. About 20-25 minutes taxi to the airport. The view from the 8th floor window was amazing, especially at night. Would recommend!

I really enjoyed staying at this social hostel — it’s so interesting to meet people from all walks of life. Big thanks to the reception Aray and Ais team for helping me with my stay. I ended up staying here for quite a while, and I loved every moment of it.

The only downside was that the showers were sometimes busy, and there was some roadworks going on nearby. There were also a few times when the water or electricity went out, but honestly, it wasn’t a big deal.

Large dorm room. Large ensuite bathroom. Very clean. Big lockers.

Unusable WiFi in the dorm....for the whole 3 days the Wi-Fi would connect for 15 seconds, then disconnect for 15 seconds, then reconnect, then disconnect, then reconnect. I don't recommend staying here if you need WiFi. There was no hostel atmosphere. It felt more like a prison than a hostel.

Just a few small things to be aware of... Curtains on the bed only go as far as the ladder so don't give full privacy. To get a bottom bed you have to pay extra! When you check in you are given fresh sheets and have to make the bed yourself. None of these are deal breakers but they are things that are not common in other hostels.

Apartment is very grubby. Lots of holes in the walls, and stains. Needs repainting and a deep clean. It was hard to get my deposit back.
