Positive section of review
Location was in a residential neighbourhood, about 10 minutes walk from the shopping street, with a great view of the ocean and mountains on the way. Convenient parking at the back of the building, we never struggled to find space. Room was warm, with enough equipment for a comfortable stay. There's also basic cooking equipment provided, enough to make some simple meals. Easy check-in and check-out process. Good value (for Iceland). It was cheaper but not worse than other places we stayed on our trip.

When other guests were walking in their rooms and opening or closing their doors, the shelves in our kitchen would vibrate and the glasses and cups would make noise, which woke us up. We had to separate the glasses so they don't touch each other, and that resolved the issue, but our sleep was already disturbed.

Good location in Vik, a short walk to multiple restaurants, a local brewpub, lava show and the black sand beach. A short drive to even more restaurants and cafés and a small shopping centre with a supermarket. Hotel looks modern and well maintained inside. Some basic complimentary stuff was provided like eye mask and earplugs. Room was warm and bed was comfortable. Self check-in is possible, no keys needed. Very good quality of soap and tea (Yogi brand).

The main light switch in the room is connected with the two sockets next to it. So you either have to keep the light on and charge your stuff, or you turn the light off and lose power in the sockets, which is something that even the cheapest hotels don't do! You can only use the bathroom socket at night, or another socket that is placed on top, without any shelf next to it. More light and healthy breakfast options would be great - especially fruit was missing. There were only few banana pieces and completely dry oranges. It was overall very expensive for a basic double room.

The room was spacious, clean and modern but even though there was loads of room for a decent table to use only a small shelf. The evening meal was very good and the breakfast was the normal fare.

Comfortable and clean. Nice and well equipped kitchen available on the upper floor. Good location, near the whale watching starting point and across the street of an amazing fish restaurant.

We got upgraded to a superior room (not with a lake view though). The restaurant is a bit strange because it’s long and thin a bit like a corridor but the food was very good.

The hotel is in a good location, close to a number of restaurants (of which I can thoroughly recommend Otto’s a short walk away). Breakfast was the normal fare but good.

Having no restaurant could be a problem for some people. Unfortunately we had a family with 2 children next to our room so it was noisy from a fairly early time.
