We had a great stay at the Holiday Inn in Tampere. The staff really made the difference—special thanks to Sini and Inca, who were very prompt in replying to all of my requests and concerns through the Booking.com app. Sini, in particular, was very approachable and made sure all my requests were handled with great attention to detail. The location was also excellent, within walking distance to major tourist attractions, shops, and restaurants, which made exploring Tampere very convenient.

There were just a couple of small things to note. The hotel doesn’t provide complimentary slippers, but they are available to purchase for 4 euros, which is part of their sustainability initiative. Parking is also on the higher side at 80 euros per 24 hours, but becoming an IHG member during my stay gave me a much better rate of 16 euros per day.

The room was large, the bed was very comfortable and it had a lovely bathroom with a great shower. The breakfast was excellent with a great range of food on offer. A good position for walks along the river.

The only thing was that it was difficult to find because of the work going on at the station. We didn’t have a kettle in our room because we hadn’t paid enough, apparently! Hot water was available in the lobby though.

It was in a good position and it had a good restaurant, both for an evening meal and breakfast. Good shower.

Breakfast was adequate (5.00 am for me) but slightly disappointing re choice and quality. Not sure if it had YouTube/Netflix etc as not obvious from remote control.

The bed was a bit awkward to get in as it was located in a tight recess. Also there weren’t too many TV channels available.
