The retreat is located in the middle of the jungle. At night it's magical. You can hear the waterfall and all the sounds of the rain forest. You have your own waterfall; surrounded by lush vegetation which makes you think you are in a shampoo TV add! The cottages are lovely and much better equipped than what I had imagined. Private bathroom with hot shower! Meals are abundant; nutricious and tasty. Ask for Martin's contract details of you want to visit the many highlights Dominica has to offer. If you are looking for extreme luxury this is not the place. On the other hand if you are looking for an experience that will blow your mind: This is a place. I have travelled a lot and few things wow me but this place is simply magical.

We highly recommend a visit to Mango Island Lodge. We received a wonderful welcome from a smiling and extremely helpful Lina. Stephane the owner was always was on hand to answer any questions and to make recommendations for what to visit during your time here. Marina was there to greet us with a smile at breakfast each morning. The location is perfect for exploring the island, the gardens are beautiful and the rooms extremely comfortable, beautifully decorated, spacious, cool and spotlessly clean. Stephane is also busy in the kitchen in the evening to prepare wonderful dinners in the internationally inspired restaurant overlooking the ocean. We highly recommend a stay here at Mango Island Lodge - you won't be disappointed

We liked the large spacious, clean and comfortable room. The collaboration and partnership with the turtle conservation and sanctuary was the reason we stayed here and we were not disappointed. We witnessed a green back turtle laying her eggs on the beach accompanied by Simon and experienced a very informative 'turtle talk' with the very friendly and positive Judy

The resort is in serious need of renovation. The door to the room did not lock properly. The restaurant and food was disappointing and resembled more of an office canteen than a restaurant

The appliances, cooking utensils, cups, glasses and cutlery encouraged preparation of breakfast in room. Therefore, I grabbed stuff at nearby supermarkets and enjoyed breakfast at my own time, sometimes earlier than a restaurant would have been able to provide.

Only challenge was arriving late on Sunday afternoon to find their on site restaurant closed. However, staff directed me to a tasty eatery close by. Local breakfast at Picard was excellent. Staff were really good and helpful.
