How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

We can hear everything.
The location is great! The place is small and if you want to save money without spending time in the property this is the place. My room was upstairs and the stairs, We can hear everything.

We switched rooms during our stay and the second room was very tiny so it was very messy. One of the top bunks didn’t have a ladder so I kinda had to climb over 2 other beds to get into mine.
Very social hostel, the beds were comfortable and the showers hot. We booked a 6 Bed Dorm but got a 4 Bed!

I struggled to get WiFi most parts of the hostel. Wish there were more couches.
Clean, comfortable and lovely staff. I met nice people and the location is perfect to walk around the center of town, old town, markets, gold museum etc.

The air in the room was sometimes bad as there was only one window facing the corridor.
The hostel is very centrally located in La Candelaria. It has cafés and restaurants nearby and various sights are also within walking distance.

The room we were in was too small and there was no space to leave the luggage or lockers inside it
The staff was nice and helpful. Chaves assisted us with some issues we had with the dates. The kitchen is spacious and clean

Can be hard to find as the sign out front is not so big.
Great location right next to the museum of gold and important places in the center of Bogota! Friendly staff 24/7 with an amazing bar that has live music and good beer:) The breakfast is great and cheap as well for what you get. Comfortable beds and common space with couch and hammock. Beautiful decoration on the walls and beautiful smiles on all of the staff:) Chaves helped me book taxis and was very helpful whenever I had questions about the nearby activities, even in the early morning 🌄🌄

It can be quite loud late into the night. The dorm door didn't open and close smoothly.
Friendly staff created nice vibes in the hostel and the location is perfect for exploring. Decent showers too.

Showers need a bit of renovation I suppose, didn't feel very clean.. Booked the private room, it would be better if there was more practical furniture to place things. One of the curtains didn't work.
Staff are super friendly and helpful. I liked they had a bar, though we didn't use it much. Good location in Candelaria, near city centre.

Room had no windows, bed and pillow was quite hard. Fairly loud bar outside and lots of stragglers from the hostel being fairly noisy until early hours of the morning. Smell of cigarette smoke/fumes drifted into room.
Easy to get to and good location in La Candelaria. Friendly staff. Nice common area.

Our bedsheets had long black hairs attached when we checked in. We had been waiting for 7 hours to get to the room so I was too tired to mention this to staff. The long black hairs made a further appearance in the 3rd floor bathroom floor which seemed to not be cleaned often. We stayed for 6 nights and were never offered to have our room cleaned, bins emptied or towels replaced. The balcony was also a hindrance as large groups would congregate late at night, playing loud music and talking so that the person at the front desk had to come and tell them to be quiet.
The staff were very welcoming, especially the blonde girl who works in the bar! We had laundry to do and it was returned to us fresh and neatly folded the following day. The location of the hostel is great in the La Candelaria district with lots to do in the area. If you turn left out of the hostel and walk to the corner you will get to the nicest cafe for brunch/coffee called Origien. Our room was on the 3rd floor which had a nice balcony to chill on.
