Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaNothing. I wish we could have stayed longer as they had lots of daily activities. Yoga, Spanish lessons, fruit tasting!
Everything! The staff, the location, the room. The best shower I’ve had in months! It was hot, good pressure and it drained properly :) the room had curtains and black out curtains, and was very quiet. I loved the leafy view to the creek, and listening to the water trickling. The welcome drink was a lovely touch :)

SpainStaff is kind, the place is well kept and very well located. It's not a very social hostel though so it's not that easy to meet new people here, but that doesn't take anything out of it as it is an amazing hostel with comfortable beds and very clean saves

CanadaIn the room, there was a fan, I guess to circulate air, as there were no windows, that was constantly running and it was very loud and just beside one of the beds.
Location and activities were great. Staff was amazing, in particular the "night guy" Wilton, who helped me trying to find a wireless charger for my phone in the middle of the night as the port on my phone broke and I had an early flight in the morning to a remote area.

We really liked everything about this place. The room was clean, comfortable and beautiful. There’s free coffee and tea all day downstairs, and plenty of comfortable areas to hang out outside your room. They offer activities as well. We participated in an exotic fruit tasting and cocktail making session, and it was so much fun, and exceeded our expectations. The location is very convenient for tours to Guatapé and there’s lots of restaurants and cafes nearby. However, it’s also quiet at night! We’d definitely go back!

Location, size of the rooms, furniture, free towels and THE bakery just beneath - I truly enjoyed this stay at Rango. A special mention to Santiago who has been the most helpful and kindest receptionist ever!

United StatesEverything was good. This hostel didn’t have A/C , rather just a small oscillating fan. The fan did help somewhat but it was very hot (July) and there was no real way too cool off. The pool was disappointing. You could probably sit in it to cool off, but that’s about it. It is in no way big enough to swim. I’d say max capacity would be maybe 20 people but it’d be tight for space. It’s really just a rooftop oversized bathtub in my opinion. The window in my room overlooked the center of the building (courtyard?) and if I had left the shade open, I would have been able to see quite a bit in the hotel room across the courtyard- not a lot of privacy in that regard. Also, breakfast was not included in the rate I paid. While I could have paid extra for it, I thought $8 was on the excessive side, given that you could probably walk a block or two and get something just as good for about half the price. I would recommend a room on the 2nd or 3rd floor. The bar/social lounge is on the 4th floor but didn’t seem as used as the rooftop on the 6th floor that is used for karaoke, salsa and more (can get loud).
The staff at Rango was exceptional- very helpful and accommodating. I like the fact that they offer free activities for guests in morning and in the evening every day. When I was there, it was karaoke, yoga, walking tours and salsa lessons. It was a great way to meet people i had a private room and it was more spacious than I expected (first time doing a hostel). It was clean and comfortable, with a small sitting area. The bed was comfortable and there weee plenty of outlets (even a surge protector if you needed it). They also have free water available all day long so you can easily fill up your water bottle. In the room, they also have a hair dryer if you need that. The location was also pretty good. One of the streets near the hostel seemed a little sketchy, but otherwise it was in a safe area, very close to Poblado park and the starting off point for many guided tours. It is also close to several restaurants and stores. They have a rooftop (bonus) where you can get fresh air, and a separate floor to hang out and get a drink .

Liliana was superrrrrr helpful my whole stay. I had a really bad day coming into Colombia with my previous hostel getting suspended, so they helped me get a good upgrade here and gave me more perks with my stay. Super nice and helpful all of them - their activities daily are also very interesting! Super well located!

AustraliaThe staff were excellent and very helpful. Beds were comfortable and the dorm room still had a lot of privacy. We had a very late bus (midnight) and the staff allowed us to stay until very late to freshen up and sit in the common areas which was very appreciated. They were also super helpful with organising tours around Medellin.

BrazilI think Rango might be the best place to stay in Medellin. The location is excellent, beds are comfortable, bathroom is clean and has a good shower, the hosts are super kind, social areas are amazing, drinks are very good, and the view to the park is just… F awesome. And I have to mention the breakfast - for me, one of the bests that I’ve ever had. Plus, you can get free coffee, water and tea. Strongly recommend you to stay at Rango when you visit Medellin.

GermanyStayed 4 or 5 nights. The 4 Bed Dorm was amazing - 1 night in a 6-bed-dorm was very tyring. So would def recommend stay in in a 4 bed not in a six. Also depends where the room is facing too - the once with window facing the back of the building I found great. All in all very nice clean, modern, professional and friendly Staff.

United StatesRegarding the location, not the hostel itself, the noise level of music with bass (from nearby bars/clubs) was a bit much for my liking late at night / including on weeknights, but the hostel had earplugs available (so helpful!). I definitely would not consider that a deal breaker, and the positives of the location and hostel outweigh that minor drawback.
All the staff, from reception (Sebastian) to bartenders (Milo & Santiago) to housekeeping (Yurley & team) , were friendly and helpful. The space is beautiful & well-laid out. I appreciated details such as water-bottle fill stations and password-protected, consistent wifi. The view from the rooftop and the coworking space were unbeatable. I'd highly recommend and would stay here again.
