How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. We had a great stay at Hospedaje Los Balcones. It has a super location to the main square, the views from the upstairs balcony were amazing. We had a great breakfast each morning to set us up for the day. Every evening we came back our room had been cleaned and fresh towels were provided

Not a true negative, but I was surprised that they came in and cleaned the room and replaced towels etc every day. It didn’t quite feel necessary to me, and if they offered a door hanger or something to decline the room service I would gladly have saved them some time and laundry!
Unbeatable location off the main square that includes breakfast in the restaurant belonging to the hotel. The views from the restaurant are wonderful!

The rooms were very small. They located me at the first day in a room close to the kitchen, so it was very difficult to sleep, it didn't have window or ventilation. Then, I asked for a change and they did, but the new room was small as well. The mattress was sunken.
The view, the service, the balconies. The location. The staff was very kind.

Ecxellent location in the centre of Salento near the main square. The building has a restaurant surrounded with a lot of balconies, so You can enjoy your meal on a balcony with a fantastic wiew of the countryside.

Our room was near the kitchen and they played music all day and night at very high volume. They made it very difficult to sleep.
The hostel was in a great location and the showers were great. We really like our breakfast.

Check in was a bit slow, but I imagine it's because I showed up before check in time
Location is great and staff very helpful. The breakfast view from the balcony is amazing. I also had dinner which was delicious! One of the best hostels I have been to in my Colombian trip

The room we had faced to the restaurant so we didnt have an actually window and was during the day loud and little privacy

Well, the rooms have just windows to the corridor which make it impossible to ventilate and you need to use lights during day. Acoustic is terrible, you can hear everything. The staff was super loud in the morning so be aware you will be waken up before 7

I only saw staff and the owner during check-in. That made it hard to get my questions answered about transportation, tours, etc.
I was given the only room with a window that faced the outside, which had a pretty good view. The restaurant upstairs where breakfast was served is a nice, open-air space.

The hostess lady ese very nice. She let me keep my luggage in the room while I visited the Cocora-Estrella Valley. It comes with a good breakfast and the hotel has beautiful views. It was good.

Very loud. They play music inside the building and speak loudly until late.
The staff is really nice. Great location. The breakfast is simple but tasty, and the view from the restaurant is so beautiful.

Super loud. Stuff of the hostel where sitting with friends in front of my room and were talking and laughing loudly until 1am… You will definitely need orpax. Also loud from restaurant on the other side.
They let me check in earlier at 9am instead of 2pm.

Incredible view from the restaurant. Best location. We were moved to a bigger room at their suggestion because we had big bags. Great showers (hot!). Fantastic staff - Really friendly and helpful. We were able to book a tour from reception. Restaurant food was good value for money, and wholesome. We recommend this place highly!

This is the tricky part of my stay . My room has NO window outside 😐, as well many rooms at the place have no windows at all . I had a sliding window facing the inside, and if I open it for a fresh air , I was " face to face " with people crossing by 🤷♂️. The second issue was levels of noise that came into my room , especially from staff members shouting each one from distance 🤧🤦♂️. I couldn't be in the room without ear plugs or soft music to my headphones 😒. There were 2 very nice staff members, but the rest were something wicked . p.s : Just an houre ago I got a message from Booking that my reservation was faulty modefied using my reservation's Pin without letting me know 🤔, like I was staying only one night instade of 5 😳🤷♂️. I think it's very rude.
The place is centeralized and peaceful as well . Clean and tide . I was staying in the double room in the second floor . As well I love the breakfast .
