The views are stunning, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Carlos advised us to do the Cabonera tour with downhill mountain biking, instead of doing it by jeep/hiking, and it was an amazing experience. All the other recommendations (which coffee farm to visit and restaurants) were great as well. Rooms are clean and kept nice and tidy. The place is just a bit out of Salento (5-10min walk up the hill), but this gives the benefits of the view, enjoy tranquility and still be able to enjoy the town and vibe of Salento.

We had a really great time at the Gran Azul. The view from the is breathtaking and the relaxing atmosphere is a very nice contrast to the town center of Salento which was very busy as it was a 3 day weekend. The staff was super friendly and communication via WhatsApp was easy. The rooms are very comfortable and well equipped. The town is just a short walk away and we always felt very safe even when coming back after dinner. Highly recommend this place - would come back any time.

We absolutely loved our stay here! The property is in a perfect location, secluded with mountain views but only a short walk into town. Margarita and Ignasi were wonderful hosts, helping us plan all of our excursions and giving us great local recommendations. We loved the fresh breakfast every day with the mountain views and wish we could have stayed longer.

We were early for check in, but Cristina the owner greeted us, gave us a helpful orientation, and stored our bags until our room was ready. The staff was excellent as well. The location is about 8-10 minute walk from town and well worth it. The views are beautiful from the rooms and property. Breakfast was splendid as well with a variety of fruits, breads, cereal, and eggs made to order. A great way to start the day! Would highly recommend Gran Azul

Mosquito nets or screens on windows would make a huge difference for both airflow and bugs. And the beds could use an update, as some other reviewers noted.

I absolutely loved the views (tranquil and stunningly green, walkable to Salento) and the hosts are incredibly friendly, helpful, and responsive. The entire site is beautifully designed and the breakfasts were simple but tasty. We had the opportunity to use the jacuzzi which is surrounded by lush greenery.

Beautiful location with mountain views from the rooms. The dining and guest lounge area was spacious and inviting. The breakfasts were delicious. The hosts were attentive and very helpful in booking a specific hiking experience and making transportation arrangements. It was a short walk into town.

Bring sleeping masks as there are no blackout curtains. This place would also benefit from a ventilation system as the area is very humid (our clothes never dried from our humid hikes).

We loved our stay here! We stayed in the Casita at the top of the hill with a queen sized bed and bunk bed. This was the perfect place to stay in Salento. The walk from the town to the hotel was only about 10 minutes. We loved our massages as well! The views were absolutely incredible. It was nice to be tucked away from the town - it was very peaceful and quiet. The included breakfast was a wonderful touch. Margarita and Ignacio also arranged a car for us to and from the nearby airports (Armenia and Pereira) - we even had someone pick us up for a VERY early morning flight (2.50 am). A great stay!

I felt at home very quickly in this amazing hotel with fantastic view. Margarita and her partner are very friendly and helpful. Salento is a nice backpacker city close to many activities. This hotel is really a special place.

Beautiful small hotel. Located a short 10minute walk outside the town so very peaceful. Large rooms overlooking the countryside. Very comfortable bed. Nice shower with hot water. Very helpful staff. We did their recommended coffee tour which was excellent. I highly recommend it . Good breakfasts on communal tables so you can chat to other guests.

The couple who run the place are incredibly kind and always happy to help, whether it’s with recommendations on what to do or anything else you might need. The views are absolutely stunning, offering the perfect balance of being immersed in nature while only a 10-minute walk from town. The shower was the best I’ve had so far in South America—pure bliss! The beds felt a little damp due to no AC and the high humidity, which made it a little uncomfortable. The breakfast had no big variety which was fine for us, we loved the fresh juice and fruits, but a little more variety (e.g. one extra cheese) would've been nice. We so much enjoyed the view but there was almost no possibility to sit down or relax somewhere and enjoy it more (besides the common area) - we'd loved to have a hammock or some sunbeds around.

A very special place, high in the mountains of Salento. The hotel was super nice, with amazing views! The couple who is taking care of the place was super nice and friendly, and very helpful in recommending tours and organising them. Very professional. We had such an amazing time and will definitely recommend the place. Even though it looks like it's so high up in the mountains, the walk to the city centre is only 10 mins (down) and max. 15 mins up (not very steep).

Amazing hotel in the perfect location: outside of the noises of the town but within a walking distance. The bed was suuuper comfortable, the amenities are very new and clean and the room was massive (looks better than the photos). Margarita and Ignacio were very hospitable and helped us a lot with recommendations! We had some nice conversations near the fireplace in the main room which was very cosy. The highlight of the hotel are two massive dogs that are always ready for pets and scratches.

Margarita and Ignasi were superior hosts- so warm, friendly, caring and knowledgeable. The property is a 10 min walk out of town down a lovely dirt road with beautiful views. Our room was beautifully appointed , with a cozy bed, great view and comfortable shower. Breakfast was delicious and nicely presented.
