How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThis place was quite costly and we were excited about birding the property. All the pictures of the hummingbirds is what made us book here. Unfortunately, that didn't work out.
We were all ready for the trails and doing some birdwatching/photography. However, we were locked out of the trails and in order to have access we had to wait until the time when birds are not as active (mid-day). No trail access for the dawn chorus. And then, we were asked to pay on top of that. "For our safety" - we found that a bit insulting. We only booked overnight and were off to the next place at 6:30am so this place was a dud for someone who likes nature. We only could walk around the buildings from dawn til 6:30am since ever trail was gated up. We left to better birding without breakfast and feeling like we wasted a lot of money.

Verified reviewWe liked everything about the hotel! It started with the welcome we received when we arrived - it was pouring rain and we were with our motorcycles, soaking wet and tired; the lovely gentleman from reception came outside to welcome us and show us where to park so we'll be as close as possible to our room, and brought a trolly with him so that we can carry our stuff to the room. The room was a bit small, but immaculately clean and well equiped. The outdoor area of the hotel is stunning, and beautiful to wander around in, so many flowers and birds and sheep and butterflies. we missed the tours, but had we stayed another day we'd definitely join them. The restaurant adjacent to the hotel was fantastic, we had a great dinner there as well as breakfast (included in the price) and it was great to have somewhere close by to dine
We loved everything. The room could have been a bit bigger, but it wasn't a deal breaker.

Verified reviewGreat room, spacious and clean. Very friendly staff!, the person in the reception, Carlos, made our stay even more pleasant. In the restaurant area they even spoke English which as a very nice surprise.
The Spa didn't fulfill our expectations, my boyfriend had a massage but it was quite poor. We went to this place to escape from the city noise, but for our surprise, there was an party/celebration that went over the midnight and kept us awake. Quite disappointing to be honest.

Verified reviewWell located, next to the main road that goes towards the Nevado del Ruiz.
The carpet looked old, and the walls on the room were just plain. I did no have the opportunity to use all the facilities. I did not like that the person working at the reception was more worried about a piece of paper showing that the kid with me was my son. I have travelled with him to many hotels around the world, but this guy told me, that I could not stay, if I did not have that piece of paper. Thank God, I have a copy of my son’s Birth Certificate on my phone. It was getting late at night when we arrived. I was traveling just with my 16 year old son.

Verified reviewThe hotel has a nice campus with lots of green vegetation. They have tours through the forest and the staff was very very friendly and willing to help in every way possible.
The rooms smell weird because of the carpet and the ventilation isn't enough. Because of this they have some humidity problems that are noticeable in some parts of the room. When we first arrived we asked for a room change and they all smelled exactly the same. We stayed here because we had an event in Termales del Otoño and are expectations were quite high so coming back every night was a bit of a disappointment. We didn't love our saty but we didn't hate it either. Taking into account the location and the amount of care it takes to run a hotel this wasn't bad at all. It just... could be better.
