The booth on the street just below our windows used automatic megaphone with one short sentence repeated again and again and again and again. It was extremely frustrating.

Our room was directly next to the restaurant. People coming and going woke us up in the morning and even though reception said the restaurant closes at 23, the staff handled closing duties until midnight and it was hard to sleep. Also the music of the restaurant could be heard in the room. It’s good to note that none of the rooms have actual windows to outside.

The location at ShuYuanMen was excellent. Staff was helpful and friendly. The little convenience store downstairs was open 24/7. The room was spacious and equipped with a cozy sofa.

Nothing really. Had breakfast once, that was the downer for the price.

My room was on the top floor (4) in an inner courtyard. It was out of the ordinary, with one wall of glass, open to the courtyard. Thick curtains al'owed for privacy. Very quiet. Staff was always hepful, and carried my 17kg bag up the stairs (no lift). The 4th floor also has a terrace restaurant, where you can have breakfast or a quiet dinner under the stars. The area is perfect in the old town, in a pedestrian street with stalls of all kind. Excellent restaurants nearby. If you're dying for a steak western style, go to Starky, you'll be surprised.

The room was close to the entrance and I felt guests were noisy, though it was not the hotel's fault.

Cheap and good location. The best thing was that the owner helped me make a reservation for 兵马俑博物馆 (Terracotta Warriors Museum), which required a Chinese phone number. The room was clean and good enough to spend nights.

The washroom smelled like feces, no matter how often we flushed, and the water from the shower did not drain properly, so you basically had to finish in 4 min or smth.

Other guests were really noisy, it kept us awake and woke us up. I even saw them smoking in the room next to us and could smell that in our room.

Spacious room, nice bathroom with a separated shower. They cleaned the bins everyday. Location was really good, close to the belltower, the citywall and metro!

No hot water in the morning for hot shower. Need to carry luggage using staircase and no lift facility. Could smell cigarette once enter the room but it will be gone after awhile.

Stayed in this hostel for 2 nights. The room price is reasonable for a triple room. Strategic location right at the tourist spot. Location is about 10 min walk from metro station. Room is spacious cum with kettle, tea and coffee. Free simple breakfast which is nice for me although booking.com mentioned breakfast is additional fee. There are many rooms in this hostel that it doesnt look like once you use the main entrance to enter that look like a convenience stall. Lovely decoration at the rooftop restaurant where we can have the breakfast. Although the breakfast started at 8am, the woman preparing the breakfast was very helpful to cook for us even before 8am as we were rushing to take the train out from Xian. Excellent service.

New series Takeshi’s castle should shoot here. This “hotel” is extrem. The smell was so horrible I felt like in the hell. After sleeping in the room I had big headache all day and all my things catch this smell. These photos are not real, realitycheck is very cruel. Its really ugly, walls are from the paper so is impossible to sleep there. Location is on the map wrong and I tried to find it 3 hours!!!! Nobody speak english of course.

It seemed to have lots of guests who would come in/check in late at night, maybe after having a few drinks?, and would make lots of noise. Not good for sleeping. Also most of the regular rooms seem to have only inside facing windows.

The location is excellent. Great little market area outside on the street. Staff don’t speak much English but are helpful. We had one of the top floor glass wall rooms near the restaurant. The glass wall was not needed as there is no view, just a tiny internal courtyard It also heated up a lot as it got a lot of sun. We didn’t eat at restaurant as there are so many options outside.
