How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

It can be a bit difficult to find, as it appears under a different name on Amap.
The location is excellent—very close to MTR and several major tourist spots like Nanjing Road and The Bund. The hotel has a 24-hour front desk, which was especially helpful since our flight arrived late in the evening. The room we were given was also very spacious.

A bit dark. Window was facing up to a parking area. The mattress was very soft (a bit too soft for my taste but others might like it).
Great location. Spacious room. Common area with free guide books to read. Refrigerator

The hotel is not new. Some minor renovation in the rooms could make the impression way better.
It's my second stay at Shanghai Fish Inn Bund. First one was in 2019. The opinion has not changed: it's a nice small hotel with friendly staff and perfect location at a reasonable price.

At night two we thought we found bed bugs, but the staff said they were termites. I’m still not sure, but we got our room changed for the last night so the staff was nice. The building needs renovations, otherwise the room was cleaned every day, got water and the location was also very good.

Setting up air conditioner was a little bit challenging but at the end it worked fine.
I only stay for one night but it's very nice hotel. I like fridge in the room to keep drinks cold. I absolutely love the cat and the bird living in the reception. :)

Very near to the Bund and East Nanjing Metro station. Just walk past by 3 traffic lights to the Metro.

Nothing really
Staff were friendly and supportive. One of staff ordered takeaway and placed it in front of door post my eye surgery, many thanks for your kindness. Also the location was excellent to go anywhere of shanghai. 2 beautiful and cute cats are in the hotel providing the special animal therapy for the customers.

Bathroom door didn’t close properly so anyone in the bathroom was visible to anyone else in the room

* The reception area is old and looks dirty. * Horrible wifi * Difficult to find the entrance ofcthe hotel if you don't have wifi
* Very simpatic receptionist who could speak english very well. He helped me a lot with info about the places I wanted to visit, buses, metro, etc. * They upgraded me to a bigger room and I just loved it. Windows open to the inner yard with some construction work going on. Rooms are not soundproof - you will hear your neighbours whispering
Great location, affordable. It is not a luxury accomodation but good enough to stay for several days. Everything is walking distance

Some of the rooms have a weird split level design that makes them feel a bit like a cave - and the walls of the rooms are too thin - if you happen to get someone noisy next to you its a problem.
The location was quite ideal and the hotel had casual, friendly ambience. The first room we got wasn't great but they happily moved us to another much niver room (avoid the split level rooms!). Will stay again!
