To some extent limited choice of food by menu, though in general is fine. May be a bit overpriced. Last two or three days on the beach there was some unknown non-stop messaging through dynamics in Chinese, may be of caution or smth. else, but really annoying when you are on the beach or at the beach restaurant.

Fast and easy check in and check out. Rooms are excellent, clean and comfortable, enough space for luggage, clothes, playing table games with kids, etc. Nice balcony to relax. We had sea view rooms. I really liked the rooms and service. Breakfast is nice, a lot of choice. There is a very good man at taxi/car reception - he speaks English and is very helpful, advising and calling for taxi, checking working hours at destination, wherever you may want to go, etc. Thanks to him. Comfortable beach area. Pool is nice. And we had not problems to find a free sunbed by the pool or on the beach. Area is green around the hotel and nice. During our stay a powerful cyclone came for 2 days, looked like it was the highest grade over the last 10s of years or so. But the hotel and personnel did all their best for us to stay in comfort. And during the next 2 days cleaned up the pool, and hotel area almost in full. Though for the city it was obviously to take a month or more to make things in order. All finally was good, the storm was during the night mostly and we stayed safe in the rooms. My final conclusion is that it was right decision to choose Marriott here.

Unfortunately, there was no concierge service available during our stay. The minibar door is extremely stiff- you could break a nail trying to open it!

### **Marriott Resort Sanya Yalong Bay** **Stay date:** July 2025 **Purpose of visit:** Vacation #### **General Impressions** - The hotel’s appearance is clean, stylish, and full of atmosphere. - The reception staff speaks English and is polite and patient. - Check-in took **40 minutes** (a bit slow). - A **deposit of $100 or 1,500 CNY per room** is required in cash (I didn’t ask about card payments). - If you plan to pay by card during your stay, **it’s better to link the deposit to your room key**—otherwise, you’ll need to carry cash. - The hotel grounds are **well-maintained** and pleasing to the eye. - A **complimentary photo session voucher** is provided per room during the stay. - Facilities include a **pool, spa, and gym**. #### **Room** - **Deluxe room (46 sqm) with a scenic view** (facing away from the sea but offering **stunning sunsets**). - **Daily housekeeping** is thorough and efficient. - The **bed is very comfortable**. - Amenities include: - Air conditioning, **Wi-Fi**, TV, safe, minibar - Robes, slippers, toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel) - **Three towels per guest**, a beach bag, beach slippers - Hairdryer, iron, ironing board, **14 hangers** - Bath salts, shower, and a **bathtub with a TV** (can be closed with sliding doors—loved this feature!). - **Soundproofing was perfect**—no noise issues. #### **Dining** - **Breakfast buffet (6:30–11:00 AM)**: Varied but somewhat repetitive. - **Highlight: The soups!** - Usually **4 types**: beef, chicken, spicy chicken, and vegetable stew (or even borscht!). - I don’t usually eat soup for breakfast, but after trying them, **I couldn’t resist having them daily**. - **Rich broths and bold flavors**—absolutely delicious! #### **Staff** - **Polite and helpful**. - Announcements are in Chinese only, but staff are happy to assist with any questions or issues. #### **Location** - Situated in **Yalong Bay**.

Not a true 5* experience. Breakfast restaurant is pretty old fashioned, coffee comes in plastic cups, service a bit slow. In addition we waited until 18:30 until we got our room keys.

Nice resort at Yalong bay. Rooms are well equipped and beach / pool area is very nice. We enjoyed the beach restaurant a lot. It‘s the only hotel with lot’s of sun beds at the beach. Gym area is a bit old fashioned but has everything you need.

Zero service for this price. Disaster. This is not a 5 star experience of Marriott chain( I can compare with Marriott in Da nang( Vietnam) 1000 times better and cheaper!) Breakfast is very overcrowded. Food is good but don’t expect fresh juices or normal water or tea! Plastic cups, dishes these are not 5 stars standards. Dirty carts( full of dishes ) literally close to your table(disgusting). Coffee machines for a coffee in a 5 stair chain- ridiculous! Zero control from the hotel of random people coming from Pullman hotel and occupying sun beds of Marriott hotel! As well very annoying vendors on the beach ( literally coming and standing close to you and asking you to buy ice cream or fruits 20 times per day) and what’s more all these strangers are using the facilities of the hotel. Unbelievable. Toilet near by the beach is a nightmare! Smelly, dirty and everyone is using it, including all these strangers from the beach. You can’t leave any of your belongings unattended! They stole my person towel even. It’s a joke! This is 3 stars standards but definitely not a 5 stars! I don’t recommend this place at all!

Dinner buffet was excellent. Not too many people, big variety of Chinese and international dishes, every day different. Cleaning of the room was good.

Thieves among the staff! They stole the AirPods Pro and the phone from the room during the cleaning. We noticed only after we checked out. Locator still shows AirPods in there. This shocks!!! Awful staying, do not recommend to anyone.

My stay at the Marriott Hotel Yalong Bay was fantastic. The beachfront location is stunning, the room was spacious and comfortable, and the breakfast was excellent. The staff were incredibly warm and attentive — a perfect place for a relaxing getaway in Sanya.
