We really like the location, proximity to the beach and restaurants. Breakfast was good, beds comfortable and cleaning was done every day.

The toliet has water leakage from the shower that cause the toliet wet and slippery.... they might want to look into it. Dangerous for old folks.

The hotel upgraded us from a 3 bedroom apartment to penthouse, unfortunately they didn't inform us that the penthouse has only 2 toilets. But we appreciate the good gesture.

Not really a minus. Just that it's in the resorts area, great for those who want a quiet retreat but not really for tourists to get a ground feel of Sanya.

Had an ocean view room which offered sunrise view from bed! Of course it warmed up fairly quickly with the Sanya sun. Close to coastal walk and about 15-20 min to main road with eateries and groceries. Enjoyed the breakfast, esp the veg dishes. There are convenience shop and cafes for quick bites.

The worst thing here is not the hotel itself, it is the sea — it is literally useless, since even with tiny waves it closes with the red flag. And there is now way to ignore the ban, because Dadonghai beach is packed with lifeguards and security. The stupidest thing was that we had a chance to compare Sanya Bay beach and Dadonghai beach the same day, because we moved to Ascott from Holliday Inn. There were same waves on Sanya Bay beach, but is was fully open (or at least no problems with lifeguards), and on the same day Dadonghai beach was closed, and lifeguards were physically preventing swimming (shouting, grabbing hands etc.) Eventually we had to go to Xiaodonghai beach by taxi every day. Not the best seaside vacation to be honest.

The hotel itself was good. Kitchen was really useful. Stuff is polite and helpful. My kid really liked Cubby bear quest, and Cubby Town shops and bars were really cute—looked like toy lego shops.

We arrived early from a long flight. The reception staff used translate and WeChat to communicate with us as we couldn’t speak Chinese. They stored our luggage while our room got ready and suggested we go sightseeing and would message us once our room was ready. This worked great as we went to the pineapple mall had a look around and got something to eat and within 2 hrs our room was ready.

Our purpose of trip is to spend time with family, hence the hotel apartment Ascott with spacious living and bedroom. It met our expectation for that purpose- the rooms are clean , duvet and beds are comfortable. No complain. Service is great. Special shoutout to Matthew Liu, the manager on duty. My daughter accidentally left behind her AirPod after we reached the airport after checking out, texted Matthew and he arranged a taxi to deliver for us.

Sea view was superb! We loved the view and the facilities. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. Front desk lady 丁琼went out of way to assist with my Taobao delivery.

Deposit during check in. Noone in arrival hall to meet and help with a luggage, especially when arriving at midnight, Not much vegetarian food at breakfast

The location was great! Pretty close to places that we want to go. Love the beach at Dadonghai Bay. It’s just five mins walk away. The breakfast was great! Love the hot soya bean drink and the good variety of food to choose from. The apartment was spacious and clean. Love the swimming pool too. Brought my mum and mother in law for a swim. The lifeguard was very attentive.

It is disappointing how the payment was handled. My booking was supposed to have free cancellation granted till 31 Jan. Property contacted me via in-app message (only in Chinese) on 22 Jan that payment has to be done by 28 Jan otherwise they will cancel my booking. They provided a China bank account in the message which is apparently not friendly to overseas tourists who do not have any banking facilities in China. In the end I had to make a call to the front desk to make sure this is not a scam message, and ask my friend to transfer money via local e-wallet. If I didn’t see the message or couldn’t find a way to arrange payment in advance, my booking would likely be cancelled. As an international hotel brand, I believe Ascott can handle things more professionally, e.g. Honour what you have agreed in the t&c of booking reservation, offer a small gesture by sending an official email to the guests on top of the in-app message in both English and local language if such changes have to be arranged.

Overall it was a pleasant stay, good location (away from the crowds), hundred meters away from the beach, nice sea view. Room size is spacious. Breakfast - good variety of both local and western options, love the local noodle stall. Facilities - gym and pool are well maintained. Mineral water replenished frequently. There’s a mini mart inside the hotel, but if you are looking for a bigger mart or supermarket, better take cab as none of them is within walking distance.

The breakfast area can be a bit bigger..and food selection can be a bit better. The staff needs to speak English if the hotel targets on foreign guests. The outdoor swimming pool is touch cold for winter cold days. It’d be good if it has a heated spa area.

The apartment worked perfectly for our family. Quite clever design as the two apartments can combine into one large 3-bedroom apartment. Facility is new, clean and modern. Kids play area is decent.

The hotel is not located on a main road and transport is required to get in and out. There is no eateries or convenience store nearby.

The front desk staff was helpful and efficient. The room was spacious and clean. The sea view was awesome, making the stay super value for money.

It was really clean, that staff was super helpful and friendly and the breakfast buffet was amazing. We stayed in one of the little flats with view over the ocean and it was perfect for a family holiday.

The pool is not heated and we came in winter, so we could only swim in the few hours of high sunshine.

We had a one bedroom executive seaview suite in building #2 for 2 days as a landing transition hotel. They have a nice view of the ocean. 10 min walk to the beach swimming areas and commercial areas and the walk is a very beautiful path alongside the beach, not the entire beach is available to swim, but the swimming areas have bay watch. If you need to go to a supermarket, calling a taxi is like 1 Euro in the area. The hotel is close to a busy tourist area and city centre, but itself in a very tranquil corner of the beach. The Luhuitou mountain park is also nearby and it’s free to visit. The room is amazing, very clean, spacious, modern facilities, luxurious, nice view of the ocean. The breakfast is delicious with a lot of options, there are also cooks that make noodles on request. The staffs are very helpful. As an aparthotel, they’ve removed some unnecessary things from a proper hotel like the bar, minibar, etc. but you have everything you need if you can cake care of yourself. it’s very good value and feels like home

Not too much sun beds by the pool. There’s no kitchen cooking stuff, nothing you can cook food in. And we had to buy two forks to eat(there were only Chinese sticks). After room-cleaning service one of the forks gone missing. It’s not a big problem, actually a little bit funny. But why, why did they need our fork?!

Good apartments with sea view. Nice big clean pool. Newly furnished. Nice bath cosmetics. Comfortable bed. Everything new and clean! The breakfast was good. Calm atmosphere and tasty food.
