Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe staff is extremely helpful and friendly. They helped me with ordering taxis, laundry service, scheduling a massage appointment, buying train tickets. Location is excellent, close to a subway stop and great for biking through the hutongs. Really nice dining area/bar for talking and where I was able to work very comfortably. Spotlessly clean.

United KingdomDue to layout the hotel wasn’t perfectly quiet. You can hear people coming and going, noise in the adjoining roads and the central air con system. Though, this is all to be expected in such close proximity to other rooms and in the heart of Beijing. Once asleep, we slept well.
Lovely little hotel, a combination of old and modern. Unique. Courtyard was very pretty and peaceful. Rooms were nice, modern and stylish. Powerful shower. Breakfast was very good. Coffee was great. Nice little extras - like fruit, green tea and a free mini bar in the room.

PolandLocalisation of the hotel is extremely convenient. It's very close to subway line 5 -(3min.walk) the same with shops and restaurants. At the same time it's very quiet and peaceful which is great when you want to rest after whole day of walking. Staff is extremely helpful. They helped us with many things and it made our stay in Beijing much easier. Breakfast is delicious. Courtyard is like a little secret garden in a bustling city.

NetherlandsThe room was a bit small and somewhat damp, but in the end fulfilled our needs. The rest made up for this. A shower issue was quickly solved.
We liked the location in this small area in the hutong. Great vibe, relaxed atmosphere in the shared area. The plants and flowers made it quite wonderful. Helpful and friendly staff. The inner courtyard was well maintained and scored high on cuteness. Conveniently located near the Forbidden City and other main attractions.

SlovakiaI was disappointed with the breakfast we paid for in advance. First of all, it started at 8:00. That is too late. Let´s say you want to go to the Great Wall so you have to leave early. That was a waste of money. Also, there were just 3 options that were same everyday. I do not eat meat, so the only option for me were 2 eggs with bread and salad (we stayed for 5 days so it was annoying to have this breakfast everyday). If I would have known in advance, I would not pay for it.
The hotel had an excellent location - it was walking distance to main things you gotta see in Beijing. The common are had amazing vibe and smell from all the flowers. Room was clean and tidy everyday. The drinks and food at the bar are very good.

United KingdomThe bed was on a mezzanine and downstairs there was a sitting area - this was cold despite turning the heating up and had insufficient light to read by - we were there in the late December but imagine that it being cool in summer might be good.
A nice quiet comfortable place to stay in a good location

NetherlandsAs mentioned already, wifi a bit slow, the size of the room might be challenging for two guests. The toilet and shower don’t have a wall up to the ceiling for those concerned about ‘noises’. On my 4th and last night, the automatic nightlight in the toilet kept going on by itself constantly. The room could use some renovation, extra attention to the small details, such as the tiles, spots that are harder to clean. For me these were no big issues and I would stay here again :)
From the outside it’s hard to tell what to expect but once I entered through those red doors, I felt right at home. The communal area is beautifully designed and styled, many plants, lounge music, it feels like a cozy living room. It’s very inviting to hang around, they serve food and drinks, however I noticed several guests relaxing/working with food from outside. Most of the staff didn’t speak English, yet did their best with translation app. I do want to mention there was one very friendly English speaking local girl who welcomed me every morning and made the best Matcha Latte’s. They have 3 types of breakfast options and they ask the night before to choose so it will be ready at the desired time in the morning. The room was compact, nicely styled and perfect for me as a single traveler. With two people it might get a bit cramped as there is no closet or much space around the bed to open a suitcase. I was happily surprised with the Japanese toilet and all its functions. The shower water pressure and temperature spot on, many amenities available and comfy bed/linen. Also the curtains are controlled with a remote. The wifi was a bit slower than my own esim/vpn. The small courtyard and terrace was very but no time to use it. There was no noise which was great! The location is great, only a 5 minute walk to metro stop and 15 minutes to the large Hutong area.

FranceGlass door from the room to the toilet (but seems like that’s kind of standard in China). Difficult to find as the booking address is a bit misleading. Showing the address to a taxi driver he directly found it.
Hidden gem in the middle of a Hutong. Design of the common area is very cozy. Rooms offer privacy and are cozy. Staff is helpful and actually quite friendly. 3 Minutes by walk to Metro Station/possible Taxi pickup point. Good coffee! :)

CanadaOur room was loft style, with the bed upstairs and the bathroom on the main floor. Charming, but not convenient in the middle of the night. The rooms aren’t especially private, as they all face a small courtyard and have frosted glass windows to let in the light. The reception staff are very young and don’t have a lot of experience, so simple questions like how long does it take to get to the airport take a long time to answer. Their English is not great, so you need to spend a lot of time with your translator app. The directions they sent to find the place were not correct on Google Maps, so we spent half an hour dragging our bags around the neighborhood before we found it by process of elimination.
This is a charming little hotel in an off the beaten path neighborhood. The lobby/breakfast area was beautiful. The free breakfast was nice. There is an old school China vibe with modern amenities, and it is clean and quiet.
