Reviews of Grand Metropark Hotel Hangzhou - 6 minutes walk to the West Lake

The staff are very helpful. The room is clean and comfortable. The buffet breakfast is very good with sufficient varieties of Chinese and western food.

The sound isolation could be improved as phone ringing in the adjacent room can be clearly heard.

Very good breakfast, plenty of choices. A lot of tasty cooked food, many fruit juices, vegetables .... Very nice and big room, they upgraded me on arrival to a kind of suite, at 36th floor, with beautiful view

Dinner in the restaurant just basic, not too many options to choose from, some noodles soups and few other international dishes. I went there once, I tried a noodle soup that wasn't that great, just average. Very difficult to explain to waiter what I wanted, poor or no English at all in the restaurant, translation and speak needed via smartphone, that is simply ridiculous and I don't like that method. However there are few other restaurants around the hotel. About the location, is not true that hotel is 6 mins walking from the West lake as they say: it is a well 15 mins walk (not slowly) via the most direct street (Pinghai Road).

Eve though the metro station is a bit far away the location is very good to easily reach the west lake. Very good breakfast and helpful personnel. Comfortable room.

For some reason there were issues with the booking that resulted cancelled even if I never cancelled it, but the problem was solved by the desk lady.

Room is big, near the mall walkable distance.

Not much overseas tv program mainly in Chinese.

The hotel is located near the West Lake where it is easy accessible to the busy areas and night life. The breakfast offered both Western and Chinese options. The staff were polite and professional. Well recommended.

Maybe, the room facilities could consider updating at some stages. Nonetheless, it is on a high standard.

This hotel is at the heart of some busy restaurants, and old shopping streets, that maintain their charm. It is also relatively easy to access from the highway.

I have been visiting this hotel for years, but much of the hotel as not changed, and improved in a long time. Some of the rooms are quite dated now, and haven't been modernised. The swimming pool and gym were closed, these were a key selling point of this hotel.

It had food available and the location

It was too hot, our first hotel smelled of cigarette smoke and then we were moved to another. The next one it was so hot, we were told that the A.C could not go below 23* mind you it is summer and super hot. They said it was again regulations. We got our money back and stayed somewhere else where the regulations didn’t matter and it was 19/20 degrees. The pool… oh man! It looks like it was out of a horror film in 1970’s, I did not let my kids in there and neither did anyone else. I think this was one of the worst places I have stayed.

The rooms seemed old or not renewed after coved. The but tub small. Same for the bathroom

Reception staff was extremely helpful in spite of the occasional glitch in our communications.
